Just a question when people ask for feedback on halls who thinks its rude to insult a place. I personally will write good things but I feel bad to trash a hall that other girls on here are booked at. I feel like if I dont say anything the person can see for themselves but to trash is mean bc someone else is getting married there? Am i wrong?

Re: Who thinks its rude to...
I dont mind when people say they dont like my place. I just say why?
When I went hall searching I posted a review of all the halls I went to and I think some were offended when I said things are drab....so instead I use words like 'the color scheme wasnt for me'

Re: Who thinks its rude to...
people's tastes vary I agree with most of you ladies- althougth everyone is entitled to their opinions it may be hurtful saying such bold and derogatory comments-- facts & feedback is always welcomed but it can be placed a bit more delicately- this of course is just my opinion

if someone asks me what i thought ill tell them what i thoguht.......everyone has a different opinion if they dont wanna hear that you didnt like it then they shouldnt ask IMO cause there is always a chance someone wont say something you wanna hear!

Yes, I definitely think that's rude!
I've read threads about places that I don't particularly care for, but I would never make a rude comment about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I feel like, on a public forum like this, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! There is a thin line between stating your opinion and trashing a place.

Yeah, but saying a place suckss isn't helpful. If you don't like a place, be specific about what it is you don't like.

Insulting and giving feedback are 2 different things....
Its rude to say that place ABC suckss @ss. Thats just a dumb comment and in no way informative
But to say, oh FYI - when I went to a wedding at ABC i didnt care for the food, or the service was slow....THATS feedback and I feel thats appropriate. I would want to know others experiences at my hall, so I can address them. I value others, esp non brides experiences alot.
I totally agree!!

Re: Who thinks its rude to...
I only went to one place when I was looking to book SO I don't know anything else about any other halls really
it s u c k s when you see a lie about your hall or when people make crazy judgments about it but what can you do..Nothing really
its opinions and that's it

i guess making negative comments in a nice way is ok if it's just to be informative
but to bash...i think that's mean.

It is rude. I have been very offended by some of the comments made by people on these boards in regards to my RH. If I have something to say that might hurt someone else I make sure to FM the person asking the question.

I don't agree with trashing but I do want to hear the positives and the negatives. I am not going to fall out of love with my hall just because someone else didn't like it but there are some things I'd like to be prepared for. I think it's nice when girls do a mini review and it doesn't bother me if they've mentioned a negative thing. Its good to hear some things that aren't always like 'it's great' and that's that.
I agree!

Re: Who thinks its rude to...
i think that its unfair to only post positive reviews or opinions about things. it makes this site biased. I come on here because i want to hear both good and bad. It makes me mad when i read people saying that they just dont post when they dont like something or have an opinion. Am i supposed to think that everyone that is being used here is WONDERFUL? no, they arent, and if people dont realize that yes vendors screw up and even the most wonderful vendor is going to have someone who is going to say something negative about it, then they should lock themselves in a box haha. I don't let that stuff offend me. If I read soemthing and it worries me Im going to investigate - so that I can make sure that doesnt happen to me. But if someone didnt post that, i wouldnt know
However, i think there is an appropriate way to go about this. Its rude to come on and say something like 'that place succks' but I dont think it is rude to state your opinion like giving specifics as to what was not liked.

I feel the same way. Some people are inconsiderate with the way they word things. If it is a comment backed by a fact or personal experience, I'll share it on the boards, because people have a right to know.
If its something a little bit harsher, I will share it only if someone asks, and I will do is discreetly via FM. No need to hurt people's feelings - after all, we all picked our halls for a reason!
