who won tonite on American Idol?

I was glad that Fantasia won. She has a whole Erykah Badu thing going on. I like the voice but I can see how some folks wouldn't. Diana is obviously really talented, and so POISED for her age! Matthew I didn't care about either way, so it was fine that he didn't go on to the next round.

And I was glad to see Katie go. She reminded me of the blonde Kim from last season -- very perky but ehhhhh...

And I'll miss Marque! What a hottie.

I Love Diana---seems like such a sweet girl and boy can she sing!!


Fantasia is okay--she bothers me a little--she comes off as a little arrogant sometimes, like she thinks she has this coming to her.

I dont like Fantasia at all!!!!!

I already hate the way the judges love her and I dont think shes that special at all! The other girl is great though, very talented!

My fave hasnt been on yet..I dont know her name but I think she had like reddish pink hair and sang power of love in one of the competitions. Shes awesome! Cant wait to see her perform!

I agree with much of what's been said here .. I personally couldn't see listening to Fantasia for an entire album, either .. I actually said that to my husband the night they all sang. And, I do think the judges are once again doing their best to influence the voting .. just like last year with Ruben .. however, last year, even host Ryan was playing favorites, pretty much from the start with Ruben .. totally unfair to the other contestants.

I was pretty upset Katie was told she 'played it safe' with her song .. um .. excuse me, that's a Natalie Cole song .. very upbeat .. and - to me - she nailed it .. with a gleam into the camera .. how's that playing it safe??? how did she not stand out??? I could not believe she was not third best in the voting ... especially since I thought Matt was fairly weak in comparison .. but .. the judges did appear to like him better than Katie.

Oh well!

I think Fantasia just has a different, more unique voice. So she sounds similar to Macy Gray, but that's only one singer out of how many in this world. I think her version could have just played on the radio, it just sounded really professional while besides Diana, the others were pretty amateur.

That blond guy was cute though. I bet he'll be back for the wild card round.

Next week has that big football player guy, I wonder if he'll make it. Then there's those stupid twins too, but I don't know how they made it at all, I don't like them.
