We are! I wanted the families to get together and really get to know each other. Its at the end of this month and will actually be exactly one year from when we get married!

We were just going to do an engagement dinner, b/c FH & I would have been paying for it ourselves....but then my mom said she'd give us a little money, and his parents did too, so it will probably pay for half of the party......so I went from inviting 30 something people to 80 something people!! It's next month on the exact day we met 6 years ago!!

We were undecided on the idea too ...

But we decided to go for it! My family is HUGE, and FH's family is teeny tiny, so I think it will work out to be a great way to introduce everyone ...

I didn't want FH's family to feel out of place at the shower and wedding, like they're surrounded by 'family' they've never met ...

Ours will be a brunch at Mim's in Roslyn. Trying to keep it casual.

We had an engagement dinner with our close family. It was really nice!

We had one in April. Just close family and friends. We bought a house last October so we needed a lot of stuff for the house! :)

We had one in August. It was really simple...in my FIL's backyard, we did most of the cooking, but both of our families got to meet, and we had a blast!

We did...a few weeks ago we had a small party - or what I liked to call our E-Dinner.
It was great just immediate family & close friends

we had one in June!! it was sooo much fun!! we did a backyard bbq type thing with catered food. We had it at Future MIL and FIL house with about 80 people.
