Whos is paying/paid for your wedding dress? POLL

The ones who answered to Parents ...Is this because its usually the tradition to have the brides parents pay?

For the ones who are paying for their dress, Do/Did you expect to pay for it?

My mom and dad paid for mine for 2 reasons:
1- they are traditional and they think the parents should pay
2- they wanted it to be a gift to me

My fH paid for mine. My mother did not have the means to do so! Is'nt he wonderful?! P.S. He told me to get any one I want at any price!

I'm paying for mine. BUT the one I wanted was out of my budget so my grandmother graciously offered $500 to me so that I could get it!! Yayee, thanks Grandma!!

My parents paid for mine. They wanted to purchase my wedding dress for me, I guess out of tradition. That's one of the wedding costs they wanted to take care of. FH and I are paying for some of the wedding, but the dress was one thing they wanted to buy for me.

Well, the majority of our wedding FH and I are paying for.
My mom is buying my dress and accessories.
She did it for my sister so she is doing it for me.
My parents are paying the extra money for our Vienesse hr. since they new I really wanted it.
I'm sure my mom will help with the other little things. At least she did mention she would.
His Family nothing, as of yet anyways.

I thought you wanted to know about the whole wedding.

My mom is paying for my dress, veil, and headpiece. Since I am her only child she has been very very generous.

My parents offered to pay for mine....I guess they wanted it to be a gift.

my parents are paying for my gown. They don't have a lot of money and they feel bad that FI and I are paying for everything else so they are squeezing out the money for my gown.

I guess all my questions comes from my experience. I just ordered my dress last wk. I shelled out the deposit of dress and was taken back that I did.
I am far from spoiled and FH and I are paying for wedding. My mom is kind of clueless to things and when my sister married (2 yrs ago) she didnt pay for dress right away, but she actually handed the cash over as a gift for X-mas, paid for the dress in full.
I dont expect anything from my parents but I was a little upset by that. I dont know if it will be that down the road she may just offer it.
See,they also gave us an e-party, my sister didnt have one. I wanted it and knew that was a deduction from our gift that they promised us(sister and I) for the wedding.

I'm a little bothered by it, I'll live!

My Mom just wouldnt take no for an answer she wanted to pay for the dress, so I shopped around to find it at the best possible price for her and I did I wound up getting, my veil, alterations, headpiece and dress for $1400 when another shop was quoting me $2000 just for the dress! Mom was happy about that!

-I did want to pay for it myself just because I felt bad asking Mom to do it. And my intention up untill she fought with me in the store was to pay for it.. So you just never know when it will happen...

My mother is European (off the boat) and so she's very traditional - she 'has to' pay for my gown, veil, etc, she 'has to' pay for the shower and so much more...I'm so lucky. It makes me sad that I can't ever repay them; they tell me that seeing me so happy is more than enough for them.

My mom wants to give me money towards my dress (it ended up being more expensive than I anticipated, as everything with this wedding is!) but I told her to take that money and use it towards her own dress.

As of right now, I'm expecting that I'll pay for it.....but I'm privately hoping that either my mom or sister will offer to pay (but I don't expect it - and that's fine wwith me).
