Hey girls I'm trying to figure out who is gonna marry me and my FH. WE had originally wanted a civil ceremony all of a sudden he wants a priest and religious. My parents are freaking because the relatives are all jewish and would feel bad. ALL I want is a simple non religious ceremony. Is anyone using a judge or a justice from the TOWN of Riverhaed or Brookhaven. OR is anyone having a religious person perfom a non-religious ceremony. PLEASE help me I can cry over this anymore.

My boss (the Town Clerk in Riverhead) is marrying us at Giorgio's. Her number is 727-3200 Ext. 260. The only thing with her, is that she doesn't book ceremonies more than 2 months in advance. There is also a retired judge that our office uses. His name is Judge Manning, and his number is 369-8474. Hope this helps!

Thanx alot I actually just talked to the riverhead office they told me that someone in her family is having a baby around the time of the wedding, but she would call me back. The problem is I cannot wait till 2 month before the wedding because it's labor day weekend and if she can't do it we would be stuck

We are getting married by Cantor Harris Cohen.
FH and I did not want a religious ceremony, but FH's mother wanted some sort of religious reference in the ceremony. So..... we met with Cantor Harris Cohen (he is a vendor on here) and we were very comforta ble with him! He does a very beautiful ceremony about LOVE! not religion. He will add 1 reading from the bible and a prayer at the end, to make FH's mother happy, oh and we are doing the unity candle.
He performs Jewish, Interfaith, & all faith ceremonies. Definately check him out, here is the link to his site here on LIWeddings.
I've heard great things about Reverend Janine Burns. She does interfaith ceremonies and will make the ceremony only as spiritual as you and FH want it to be. Good luck!

THe problem is although I would love to make FMIL happy and FH happy. I'm not marrying FMIL and neither is my FH we are marrying each other. We eaither have to decide what's best for us or what's best for both families. This wedding is unfortunatly turning into what everyone wants except me. I only get to get married once everyone in the family already got to have their own wedding. I'm sorry girls for venting like this I just feel that nobody is giving me the respect that it's my and my FH's wedding.

Which town is your aunt a judge in? Because there may be a jurisdiction question, because the Eastwind is in the town of riverhead.

I don't think that the town thing is an issue - she is marrying us at Giorgios... Her # is 631-283-6017, ext. 134 - you'll probably actually speak with the clerk, Peggy.
