Thank god for my parents. They are paying for our reception and my dress and my dad just told me that whatever we can't come up with they will pay for.

we are very fortunate...my parents are paying and FH's parents gave a very very generous amount to put towards our wedding..
without our parents,,we wouldnt be having the wedding we are...

My FH and I will be paying for our wedding. So far, both of our parents offered to pay little things here and there.

same here. that's why we're having a small wedding.
In all fairness, my folks offered to pay for the reception, but I didn't want them too. FH agreed.
So we're having a nice intimate wedding with 50-60 of our closest friends and family. by us paying, it's good excuse to not have any kids at the wedding! and... we have full control.

Groom and brides parents are each paying 1/4 and me and FH are pating the other half, unfotunately, this does does include the honeymoon which is about 5K and thats before i even get there, i hope i get some good gifts

BUT both sets of parents ended up giving us a very Generous gift (they actually both gave the same amount )

My parents contributed about 30%. His parents about 5% and the rest was us. I think you need another category up there.

My parents are paying for the reception and church, his parents are giving us some money and whatever we can't afford on our own, my parents are lending us the money and we have to pay him back. We are both students, so we are getting married in 2007 to save as much money as we can.

We are paying for it ourselves. Little things have been bought here and there by both parents but the hall and all the vendors is all us.

My father is paying about 85% of everything. We're paying the remaining 15%.
