Who's paying for....

......your bridal shower?

I know that 'traditionally', the bridal party are the ones who host and pay for the bridal shower. I don't know if that is still the case anymore. Most showers I have been to have been hosted by the MOB or other female family member.

So, who is paying for yours?

Etiquette says that people in your immediate family should not ask people to give you gifts so they shouldnt host the shower...but I have a big Italian family and anyone OTHER than the mother of the bride paying for the shower is really unusual!! My fsil's are very excited because my shower will the first bridal party they've been part of that they dont have to help pay for!

My Mom and Nana paid for the majority of it (venue/food) My MOH purchased the favors and the other BM's split the cost of decorations, ect.

I really like the fact that they were all on the same page with things in the planning process. They held their own 'meeting' a few months before the shower on the day we were all together to order their gowns and my first gown try on. It worked out very well, everyone knowing what their part was - no surprises or fights in the end!

My mom will pay and the bmaids will help with favors and setting up and centerpieces I am sure!

my mom and dad are paying and my FMIL is chipping in with the cake and i think favors and stuff like that....

My mom (well, dad technically) is paying for the shower itself...the BMs will be given auxiliary duties such as decorations, games, etc. As far as I'm aware, they're getting off pretty easy.

For my shower My sister and FH's mom are paying for it .

For my sister's I paid for hers.. No one else in bridal party even offered to help financially...ugh but that is a different post.

Actually, I have never been asked to contribute (the moms always hosted) as a BM now that itI think of it and I have been in a lot of bridal parties.

I think these days people host events in restaurants and it is a lot for a BP to pay for that. An in home event is different. Plus, I see on this board that some women invite all women on a guestlist - that makes the shower so $$$.
