We're paying for about 80% of it. My Mom decided to pay for the 2nd hall payment, which is about 8,000... not much to really work with when planning a 30,000 wedding, but you just need to take it one step at a time....
So far I have ALL the gifts for the BMs
Hopefully getting my veil this weekend
Going dress shopping for BMs the 26th
Have florist appt. on the 19th
DJ is just about figured out
Photo / video is PAID... (most is paid AFTER the wedding :))
And BOKs can't be paid off till Dec, but we have $ set aside...
Soo....so far so good.
My Mom said she might pay half for my dress...

Were doing it ourselves as well. What parent has 40K cash in the bank to give these days!! + my lil sis is still in college so were doing it. My mom did pay for my dress, hair/make up and veil which all was about $2,500 she is taking care of the church, my accessories (unity candle pew bows etc) and the flowers (but the flowrs are just bridal party flowers we have a candle centerpeice) but all the big ticket stuff is us!

Nope!! FH and I are paying for EVERYTHING OURSELVES!!! I mean everything....our own engagement party.... Rehersal Dinner, wedding, honeymoon, attire .... EVERYTHING!!!

my parents are paying for the engagement party, reception hall and shower. im paying for all the vendors, dress, church and watever else there is lol.

You are not alone! My parents gift will be cash though, so they are contributing in that way, and the FH's Mom is doing the Rehearsal Dinner and giving us any part of our budget that's not used for that (she set a certain amount, and we are coming way under, yay!) No idea about his Dad yet, but truly, all the gifts will be contributions toward recouping our upfront costs.

My parents are paying up to 140 guests his parents are paying for the extra guests as they have a huge family

My parents are paying for it, and both my brother and I are currently attending college, so I wanted to be fair and give them time as to avoid as many money headaches as possible, thats y my wedding is in 2011. by then i should have my bachelors.

We are paying ourselves... 100%. I skew a little older than most brides to be here (I'm 33 will be 35 when I get married) and I felt horrible taking money from my mom (dad is deceased) and FHs parents when we're perfectly capable of paying on our own, it's hard but we can do it.

My parents paid for the RH... we paid for any guests over the original number and all of our vendors.
