I personally want to know when the party is. I hate surprises. I may do a cocktail party with both ladies and gents. I hate the traditional showers with just the ladies. To me, they are boring.
But, I think traditionally, the BM's plan the event.

My mom and sister but I am putting my two sense in. I picked the place, the menu, ok'd the invites. I told my mom I would make the favors. She told me to shut up!!!

I totally hate surprise's also, I know when the date is. I gave the idea too that I wanted a Sunday brunch shower.
I have a ??? Does the bridal party all chip in and pay towards the shower or is it strickly the mom that pays the whole thing?

Like my moh wants to plan it but doesn't know the first thing about what goes into a bridal shower, and I have been to a few this past year so I sort of gave her ideas. Also, I don't want my friends and mom spending an insane amount of money on this thing either... I mean who is supposed to pay for it?

I chose the date with my Mom & MOH. Mom, MOH, & FMIL are planning I think, but Mom will be doing most of the legwork (she's retired and the shower is on LI, and MOH lives in Boston). I know they're meeting up for lunch or something to discuss ideas for the shower soon.....I tend to think Mom & FMIL might be paying, but I really don't know!

I think you can totally give ideas...no one knows what you want better then you. And I have the same quest who pays for it.

Only thing I was a part of was the invite list, other than that my Mom chose the venue, and my MOH planned everything.

i have no idea.....i know that im having one b/c my mom mentioned it and and so did my fmil - they asked questions like when and where do we plan on registering and my mom talked about her and my sister flying up for it (they live in florida)......i have no clue who is planning it or paying for it, or when its going to be.....i want to be surprised with all that good stuff.....so i guess i'll just see what happens when the time comes! traditionally i dont think your supposed to be involved - but that really doesnt matter these days.....i just think its nice that people will be offering to help have this party for me so i rather stay out of it - i dont want to come off as demanding or a bridezilla id be happy with a backyard party and a bbq

Technically my mom and MOH. However , i am putting everything together. I am providing the games and theme. They are just going to host. Mom is paying for it.

My mom and sister are doing the majority of planning. I'm sure my sister will talk with FSIL and my cousin who are my BM also. My mom talked to FMIL, thinking she would offer something and pretty much she didn't. So I guess she's not involved!
The only thing my mom asked was if I wanted buffet or sit down meal and if there was any place specific I wanted it.
You can help as much or as little as you would like! I just know I want to be surprised! I love them!!

My mom, aunt, MOH and grandmother planned my shower. I was told the date and location. I provided a guest list when asked and saw some of what was going on. I live with my mom, so it was hard not to!

My MOH organized it with my bridesmaids. my mom helped when she could (she gets stressed and can't function) they all contributed to the cost. Nothing wrong with being involved, just let them go their own direction so they don't feel put out. I was involved with alot since I'm from MA and DH is from NY and planning to accommadate the most people was a trick. I knew the place, date, food, but not the specifics like games, favors, etc.

my shower will be done by my bridesmaids/my mom (she needs a hand in everything -moms!) i'm not going to have it be a surprise though. i have 3 BM out of state and 10 other girlfriends and some fam. I'd like to be able to spend time with them while their here. And we're looking to do the bach. party the same wkend so people dont have to travel twice. but if i can say anything having been a BM 9x!!! Everytime but once the bridal party planned and payed pretty much for the whole thing - some moms helped a bit financially but we did it all. good luck to u.
