Who's walking you down the aisle??

So I'm sure most of you are having your dads walk you down the aisle.

Unfortunately, that's not an option for me, my dad passed away 12 years ago
Both of my grandfathers have also passed and I don't have any brothers.
I'm not sure if I should just walk down by myself or if i should ask my mom to walk me down. I'm not sure if I can handle having my mom walk me down, just typing this i'm getting all teary eyed. I'm very very very close with my mom. It's just been the 2 of us for a long time (my 2 sisters got married many years ago). I think i might just be a crying mess having her give me away. Plus I know she'll be much worse than me.

What do you girls think i should do?

FSIL's dad died so she had her mother and brother walk you down. I say absolutely have your mother walk you down the aisle. Both my parents are they both raised me.

I don't have my mom, father, grandparents or anyone. I'm having my BIL walk me down.

I would def ask your Mom. It would mean the world to her and although it will make you emotional, it is supposed to be an emotional day and this would be the perfect culmination for all you have done for each other. My Mommy is walking me down the aisle too. She is best friend and I wouldn't have it any other way. HTH

Definately ask your mom to walk you down the aisle to see how she feels about it.

My mother is giving me away as my father passed away when I was young.

My dad passed away about a year and a half ago. I was going to have them both walk me down the aisle. Now, it will be just my mom. My mom won't dance with me at the reception though. She is very set on 'that is something that was for your dad.' After FH and I dance our wedding song, I am going to have the band invite everyone up and we are going to dance to 'There You'll Be' by Faith Hill. I am going to make sure someone is designated to dance with her for this special moment.

my mom and dad will walk me down the aisle. I think it will be very sweet if your mom walked you down.

I def think that your mom should walk you down...tears and all...weddings are emotional no matter what...

do what feels right ...but you brought tears tomy eyes while I read this!

thank you all so much for all the replies. I'm defintiely gonna have my mom do it. FH & I discussed it today and he also thinks it's the best idea. My Mom is really the only one who really would be good enough to walk me down the aisle and i think it would make my dad really happy too!

I'm having mom walk me down - I know I'll be a sobbing mess my entire wedding, so what are a few more tears

I think you should ask your mom to do it.

My father passed away 7 years ago and my mom said that she'd rather not walk me down the aisle, so i am having my uncle walk me down.
