I got my photo mat in the mail today and it came out really nice. fh was surprised my name was first. since we will be known as mr and mrs gary and gail a.... he thought the groom's name goes first. since i want to order the ribbons this weekend, whose name should go first.

Of course, in the end it's totally your choice.
Although, I have seen it a lot of the time with the bride's name first. I am just used to saying Carolyn and Fred, then the other way around.

I think lady's name goes first because you are not supposed to split up the guy from his last name. I may be imagining things though I could swear I heard that somewhere...

I think this is what I heard too, then after you are married guys name first. But really I don't think it matters too much.
