FH and I ahve been around and around with this, first we were gonna use bubbles, but then I read they make your hands stick and can stain dresses and tux's! So then we were gonna do a petal toos, but when I see it on TV they don't go anywhere, they're not heavy enough. I like the idea of bird seed, but hate the thought of having to pick it out of my hair! (See pic!) Anway, thought I would ask THE GIRLS! TIA

bird seed does get stuck in your hair...when my father re-married he and my step-mom were picking bird seed out of their hair all night...I'm doing bubbles b/c church doesn't allow rose petals

These are the bubbles that we are using, too!!
I was at a wedding where they used butterflies and most did survive, however I thought it was cruel for them to be in those little envelopes for any lenght of time.

We threw Wedding Rice.....DONT USE IT!!!! Its Horrible!!!!!!! Melted and it was in my hair and in places that you never thought it be!!!

sorry, girls.... using butterflies sounds mean similar to the fish in centerpiece vases, I feel bad for the little guys!
We're also not allowed to toss anything at the church.... bubbles it is! ours have either silk daisies or cherry blossoms on the cap....
I agree about the butterflies and the fish....it's cruel IMO
