why are you girls erasing vendors??

That is SICK!

Never worried about it and posted freely who I was using and used. Nothing happened. I was never worried about it.

IMO - Certain things happen to certain people for certain reasons. I have never even had a vendor call my house or send me things. Strange how some people do.

Bethsiar: Did they let you see the letter?

I am keeping mine. People dont know our last names, where we live, etc etc

I have also given more than the deposit to many of my vendors so they would at least need to call about the money.

Does anyone know an exact occurance of this info gotten from LIW?

Even still, Im sure the person could get traced somehow, especially if they cancel you and then try to book themsleves the same date....

Maybe I am naive, but I refuse to give in to crazies!

Before my wedding, I listed my vendors, but never revealed the actual date of my wedding until afterwards. People are crazy and you never know!

Everyone keeps saying that but it does not make sense. Our names are not listed and our addresses are not. How can someone do that from this website. It is probably all true but I don't buy that it was from here. Sorry.

I just erased mine too. I would freak if that happened to me

I remember this coming up awhile ago, and I still feel that this is ridicuous. I don't see how any reputable vendor would cancel your date without you coming in in person to sign. And also no one posts last names- so this vengeful, crazy person is going to call up one of your vendors pretending to be you without a last name even and tell them to cancel, and that vendor is going to go along with it? I honestly don't think that can happen.
Who we are using as our wedding vendors, to me, is not personal information. I am not giving my ss#, my bank account#, or even my last name!!
I have found it very useful to look up people's vendors sometimes, and truthfully, am disappointed when there's nothing listed.

Everyone has the right to do what they feel comfortable with. But, I don't feel the need to remove my information.

OMG, that is just sick. Okay, I fell victim too and erased my info, although I'm sure people can find out who I'm using just by searching the boards.

I hope that my vendors have half a brain to call me before doing anything like canceling my contracts with them! Geez!
ETA:: I also found it very helpful to see who is using who, especially if they are booked for my day, I won't go through the trouble. I dunno, it's scary yes, but now I'm thinking that anything like this can happen, just like with Bethsiar, she didn't post about it on LIW, she went to a showcase.

well, i just erased all my vendors, but for a different reason. it has nothing to do with people cancelling on me, but i am very upset about it.

ugh...some people i tell you!

I would hope a vendor wouldn't cancel with Just a name and wedding date, but you can never be too careful.

me too- non of my vendors would cancel w/o me saying at lest my last name- and I have given them more then just a deposit
