so... most if not all of us have said, 'it seems so far away, i want to get married now!, i can't wait' etc.
So.... what are the reasons your glad your waiting till 2010.
I'll say the first obvious one... $. I really have NO idea how we would get married in 2009 because we will be saving till the very last possible minute.
any other reasons, school, trips, fam stuff, etc.

If we wanted to, we could afford to get married now, however it would be a much smaller wedding. We are trying to do a big shabang and therefore we need a year to save... our engagement will be 1 year and 4 months long- good thing we started saving before hand

also...this will sound stupid but i like even numbers...i like the way 2010 sounds better than 2009 (not why i decided to do 2010 but something i thought of after)
I completely agree to this. We contemplated moving in together and then waiting to be married until 2011, but 2010 sounds so much better especially being even. Now as we're planning and I think about it I could never have waited any longer lol.

This may be weird but,,..... I really wanted to enjoy being ENGAGED!!!
Saying 'Oh, my fiance this, my fiance that...' just sounds so classy compared to. 'My husband this , my husband that'
We got engaged 2/28/09 so I considered trying to get married in November of 2009 which would mean an 8 month engagement.
In the end I decided to wait til April 2010 to give us more time to plan. I would be stressed out if our date was in November...especially b/c I'm doing ALL the planning..

I wanted 2010 then the economy decided to go south and Dave lost his job so I had to compromise to March 2011 to give us some extra time to save the $$$.
So $$ had alot to do with it and I really wasnt comfortable having a wedding so fast. I want to be able to plan and breath at the same time and not to be so stressed.

thats similar to us...we knew we wanted april...so it was either a 7 mth engagement or a year and 7 mths...i took the less stressful route!
I don't know I'm starting to think I should of waited till later in 2010!!

We got engaged just before Christmas last year, so the idea of planning something THAT quickly would have made me want to It's do-able, but much of my family lives OOT so it really would have been pushing things.
Also, I'm a big fan of even numbers.
And like someone else said, just the enjoyment of being engaged for awhile is peachy keen with me!

Money and date... I am happy we are getting married on the most romantic day of the year. FH also says he will never be able to forget an anniversary!

I'm glad we're waiting to get married next year because of money as well. We need to save up a lot of money and we would not have been able to do that if we got married this year. And we can get deals throughout 2009 on things for the wedding.
I'm also glad because we have our pick at vendors, we don't have to settle for just anyone because everyone is booked.

I've always wanted to get married in the fall, but we only got engaged in early April, so there's no way I could've put everything I want together in 6 months.
