why can't anyone at the insurance company answer a simple question?
Since I never wait till the last minute I figured why not call the Insurance company and get the info about Lacation Consultants. That way I can call the women now and get an explaination of when she comes to the house to help me (after baby is born, I mean). First Rep 'yes, we cover Lacation Consultants.' Me 'Great. Where do I get an approved listing' First Rep 'hold please'..........'maybe you can ask your doctor about it' Me 'Hum. How will she know who Horizon approves for this? Why would she have a list that you don't have?' First Rep 'Hum. Let me transfer you to a senior rep' Senior Rep 'Can I help you' Me 'yada, yada, yada' S. rep 'A what? A lacation what?'
THis is not going to end well I can promise you all that.
S Rep 'Your doctor will do that for you. You don't need an special consultant' Okay.....I guess that I am making up the entire Lacation Consultant profession. Me 'Do you even know what I am talkiing about? Tell me which doctor you know will come to my house and help me breastfeed because I don't know any' Let's just say I have to call back and speak with a female who a)speaks some english words and b)knows what the heck I am talking about.
As anyone else had a Lacation Consultant before?

Michele - maybe Elizabeth Seton Birthing Center can help, or refer you to a professional org of lactation consultants for a referral?
