Re: Why did you pick your hall?

The Bourne was the only hall I was interested in on LI. I wanted a Castle or Mansion and I wanted to be on the water. I liked Oheka, but no water. The Bourne is not as well known as a lot of the other halls and I did not want a place that people have been to a bunch of times. I had to have only 1 event at a time & I wanted a place that would accomodate a very formal elegant affair. Then I went to see the Bourne in person and my mom and & I fell in love with it!

We went to like 17 places and when we drove down the driveway of Westbury Manor I just felt like this was so beautiful then we walked inside and it just took my breath away and the price was great also we both agreed we loved it

I fell in love with the grounds and the CH room. The food is delicious and everyone I have ever spoken to that has gone to a wedding there has said only positive things.

We wanted certain things - 1 wedding at a time, near some sort of water, and in Nassau County. The minute I saw our place, I just knew. It's exactly what I wanted! And in addition, the food and service are known to be excellent. It was the only place we had to look at!!

Because my jaw dropped to the floor when I walked in and I knew no one coming to my wedding would ever had been to a wedding at the Bourne and their jaws would do the same!

One wedding at a time was big. I want to feel like everyone is catering to me!

Menu and food is to die for!

They allow my guests to come right after the ceremony if they have no where to go-they can enjoy champagne and hors d'oeurves.

The ballroom. Anyone who has every been to the FT knows what I am talking about. There is simply NOTHING like it.

The history. I like things that have histroy. FT was an old theatre that was restored to its natural beauty.

Everything is on a separate floor. For example, first floor is precocktail. 2nd floor is cocktail. 3rd floor is the ballroom. And 4th floor is the BEST bridal suite in NYC...they actually have TV's where you can watch your guests at the cocktail hour!

It has a city feel but it is in LI.

God I just love FT!

Before we went to visit, it had all the priorities I was looking for: 1 wedding at a time, and windows.....yes, I said windows. I visited many places that had no windows and I just felt closed in. When we went to check the place out, not only was I amazed by the surrounding floor to ceiling windows, but the view was of rolling hills of trees. It reminded me of the peace and tranquility of the poconos. We instantly fell in love with the place!!

I knew the minute that I walked in that it was the one.

Why?

It wasn't a typical wedding factory. I also visited some wedding factories and they were all very nice and great deals, but I wanted something a little different, and I wanted it at a place where most of my guests haven't been before.

Everything you just said! The menu is catered exactly to what you desire at no extra cost!!! Being the only bride there is a major plus...

The closeness to the church helps us out too...

The bridal suite is amazing! There actually are 2 bridal suites!! There is not one thing about the place I do not like..

The best & deceiving part is it looks like a building (ordinary) from the outside, but once inside, it is a different story!!!

When we went to see it they had just finished setting up for a wedding that evening. The view from the room overlooking the water took my breath away.

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

Having grown up on the water on LI, I wanted to be married and celebrate at a place on the water out by where I grew up. Port Jeff fit the bill. My FH was excited about lots of good Italian food. I needed a harder sell on that point, but it had things that we each liked rather than choosing another place that had everything that only one of us wanted.

Great view, great food, close to our roots

Oh, and it had Halloween weekend open, which is when I always wanted to get married!! There was a cancellation on my night and no other Saturdays available so it was fated. I didn't even look anywhere else!!
