Ballroom unlike any other. When I stood in the middle of the room, I could see my wedding reception unfolding before my eyes.

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

I absolutely fell in love with the old fashioned charm. Driving up the path with the gas lamps flickering made me feel something. And then DH and I walked into the reception room and we both looked at each other and knew this was the place for us. On top of that they have beautiful grounds and were Scotto owned and all the Scotto weddings we have gone to have been great!!

The 'one bride at a time' was very important to me. I also really liked the room at Giorgio's. It wasn't too gawdy or open where my guests would feel lost. I also like that they have one waiter/waitress per table. I think this is important. They have more than one bar...again pretty important when you think about a line of people waiting for drinks. I LOVE the dance floor at Giorgio's, pleanty of space and so pretty! When I walked into Giorgio's, I could see myself at the table with my Michael and I just kinda knew!

Oh, yeah....and fabulous food!

We went to like 17 places and when we drove down the driveway of Westbury Manor I just felt like this was so beautiful then we walked inside and it just took my breath away and the price was great also we both agreed we loved it
!

We felt the same way, we drove up the driveway, and I was hooked!!

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

a couple of factors....

not too far out on the island

something different from a 'woodsy' feel, wanted something more modern

something we could afford

and honestly we were looking every weekend and I couldnt take it anymore!!!!

We fell in love with the Dome room. None of the other halls had a room that even compared to it in our opinions. And the cocktail room is huge so everyone will be able to sit down when they eat. Thats one thing that was important to us. I hate going to weddings and having to stand at CH. And the last reason is the food is excellent!

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

We both knew we wanted something very elegant.

Giorgio's was my first choice. I love how it is surrounded by windows and chandeliers. The room set up is just so gorgeous. So much room and the staff there is amazing. Everything was excellent. The dance floor is huge and beautiful too with the designs.
A plus also is that it is located right near the LI Sound. So you will always have great pictures either by the water, on the golf course or in their beautiful gardens.
Oh and how can I forget the food is DELICIOUS

I mean just look at it- It takes my breathe away

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

Honestly, it felt right. It was homey and warm. It felt comfortable and not stuffy or grand. We are sorta odd-balls to begin with. We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our guests, the people we care most about. We wanted them to feel lay back, relaxed and unbothered.

We choose Stewart Manor because:
-It’s a one-event only type of place so our guest can scream their hearts out.
-Two huge fireplaces that begged to be lit. I have a thing for fire, so comforting
-Skylights in the main area that allow the sun to creep in and play off the pine floors
-Very much a dark woodsy warm cocktail hour area that made me feel like it was a lounge – again casually comfy.
-It has so much character, we went back recently for a tasting (a year after booking) and just walking around made us smile and remember why we booked)
-It’s not ordinary or something that people have seen a million times (I hope).

All the other stuff that comes with it ... the 'Selling Points', if you will, I'm sure I could find at other places, but its the things I just listed that made it the place for me.

Parking and space issues (which I approve of here) I'm sure are everywhere, but feeling like I walked into my dream home? Nah, that's not just 'anywhere'.

I felt exactly how Summer Bride felt about Jericho Terrace, plus they are giving us a great deal. We're having our ceremony there too, and the skylight room is the most beautiful room we saw for a ceremony.

I have to say that we also loved Fox Hollow (especially their great menu and pricing!) and Riviera (it certainly would have made our decision tougher if we weren't getting married in February! We loved the banquet manager, Vicki.). Jericho Terrace just seemed the best place for our 150+ guests at that time of year.

I chose Russo's b/c I knew the food was excellent as well as the service. I also fell in love with the atmosphere especially the glass elevator entrance. A family member also had their anniversary party there and said everything was perfect. Also many people I knew highly recommended it.

We had been looking for a long time and weren't going to look at Areca because we thought it would be too expensive. But, I loved it from the photos and menu on the website, so I talked DH into looking. We loved it as soon as we walked in and thought there is no way we will be able to afford this place. It is so elegant but not stuffy. It is one wedding at a time. Even the bathrooms are gorgeous! We liked the lake and outdoor area too. And I wanted a place that people hadn't been to before. It was more affordable than we thought, so then we had to taste the food. The food is awesome!!!! The restaurant provides the food for the catered events. One of our vendors even told us he hasn't had food that good at a hall in years, and he's worked at the best (even more expensive too). It was just perfect for us. And they totally lived up to our high expectations in every way.

totally agree with all of the above. we chose smcc for the coziness of it, but its not small. the one wedding at a time factor played a big part. the grounds are beautiful for a summer wedding and i just love the gazebo. can't wait for our wedding!!!!

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

My mother gave me this piece of advice; You will know the place is right as soon as you walk in. Well as soon as I walked into Larkfield, I just got a feeling that this would be the place. THe piano in the middle, the subtle, soothing colors. It was beautiful.

There food menu is also outrageous. Guest have a choice of 6 meals at dinner. They are also offered seconds. I thought this was a very nice touch. Also, Frank is an absolute sweetheart. He is a doll to deal with.

Atlantica was the one place on LI I was always interested in. We loved the chef, the ocean view, the unique setting, the fact that it was on the East End, & that it was only one wedding at a time.

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

As soon as we walked into the Larkfield we just KNEW. It was only the second place that we went to visit, so we decided to look at the other places anyway since we were new at this type of thing, knowing that we'd be back to book our wedding.

Everything from the menu to the elegant rooms with the chair covers (for some reason, I LOVE chair covers), it just seemed perfect.

We (unfortunatley) live in Michigan, so planning a LI wedding from 700 miles away is going to be difficult. Knowing that Frank (the BM) is going to be taking care of everything just makes me feel more secure-like JacnRob729 said, he's a sweetheart!

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

I was looking for a place with
-one wedding at a time
-close to my parents (so I could get ready at the home I grew up in)
-beautiful grounds
-I have always dreamed of getting married outdoors so I was looking for an outdoor ceremony but with an equally beautiful indoor ceremony location (incase of rain or bad weather )
-fabulous food

I looked at Flowerfield's website before we went there and from the picture, it looked like what I wanted.

When we visited there the first time, I was absolutely what as perfect as I had imaged it would be. My FH said that my breath caught when we went into the atrium the first time. And I love looking out at the grounds from the reception room. (Windows are big for me too.)

Re: Why did you pick your hall?

I picked my hall because I just absoluteley loved it. It was a pretty new place, they only did one wedding at a time. I loved the ballroom. I loved the fact that we owned the whole place for the night. It was not a place that anyone had ever been to. And the food was absolutely amazing as were all the people that we worked with at the hall!! My hall was definitely perfect for us. We both just knew it was our place when we walked in. And the prices could not be beat!!
