Why do people want to have children?

rojerono, I didn't realize you were the same person on LIF who put that Mom in her place who made a remark about your son's mohawk!! That was a great story.

Your sons are gorgeous! When I looked at this picture:



I thought it was a mirror image at first. Wow, I cannot believe how they look so much alike!

And my sister has 3 boys, so I know just what you mean about having a daughter.

I never thought i wanted children.The whole idea was a HUGE turnoff to me (and lord...im a teacher)

But since DH and i have been married and 'settled', i have been hearing that damn clock insode me tick and tick.

I definately want kids now.

i think people have kids for many different reasons. i know i cannot wait to expand our family i have just always been very maternal. i work in childcare as a toddler teacher and i just loooove taking care of them. i figure if i can tend to 12 of them i can handle 2-3 of my own. right now i am working on my masters in school counseling and i want to work in an elementary school bc i just want to help kids through life and and to be happy, for my own future kids and my future students. i wish we could start trying soon, but we want to wait until we have a house and after i graduate and settle into a job.

Awww thanks! Any compliments about my kids TOTALLY melts me. I am a HUGELY mushy parent.

i don't know how to explain it really, but i always knew i wanted to have children....from a young age-example: we had to write an essay in 6th grade if we got $20,000 what would we do with it?

i wrote that i would give it to my next door neighbor-bc i knew she was having probs getting pregnant and was tryin IVF.....how did i know it was so important? I really dont know....

i am at my most comfortable around children-every baby that passes me i must look at them LOL.

you are going to be an awesome mommy!

one of the best compliments i always get is 'wow you are amazing with children' i am 24 years old and you can find me on the floor with any kids i meet playing for hours. even at weddings. . . i am dancing with the kids LOL recently at a NYE party everyone was getting drunk. . . and the moment i walked in like three of the kids that have never met me before just came up to me, took my hand and took me to where they were playing - even their parents were kind of freaked out that they could just 'tell' that all i wanted to do was play
