why do people want to mess up my shower???

so messed up.

my family has decided to exclude my fh from any details about the shower. They will not even let him bring me to the shower.... he's not happy about that, and i told them i dont want a surpise shower cause itll probably be easy to guess when it is(same thing happened at my sisters shower, they picked a place that she never would go to on her own), so id rather just know so i could be dressed for it, and keep the date open

then, on his side, his cousin was not on the invite list because, well lets see, she hasnt talked to me or my fh in the last 3 years...... plus she has openly expressed that she's jealous he is getting married first. and now she lives 4 hours away, so it would have been an easy exclusion...

now i find out her mother(aunt) complains that she didnt get an invitation. so fmil says well it was limited to people in new york. so the aunt goes, we'll she's going to be in town that weekend.... so no one told that its NOT ok for her to be there.. we dont even want her at the wedding, but decided to be nice about that and now she's forcing herself into the one event im suppose to enjoy without interuptions.

*** !@!@!@!@!!@ this is the girl who has been very miserable to my fh growing up. and now hasnt talked to us the last 2 years, never even said congrats on the engagement, will not even say 'hi or bye'...
its no coincidence of her being in town that weekend, so now unless fh can take care of it I am stuck with the evil cousin

I would just be honest and tell your family. If this girl is invited to the shower doesnt she have to be invited to the wedding. I thought that. But if she is so miserable and rude would she even want to come to the shower? I dont know.

she was NOT invited.... but yet her mother is trying to get her invited.......
Update is fh talked to his mother and she will get this settled....... thank goodness!!!!!!!

yet im still left with my fh being completely excluded from the shower. first they wouldnt tell him when and where and was going to tell him at the last minute and have him bring me there, now it became that hey arent even letting him bring me there.......

you poor thing - i bet you can't wait t o just get married and have all of this insanity over with!!!!
I don't know why they would exclude him completely....that's silly.
Tom told me they didn't tell him anything, but in reality, he knew everything.....

Don't worry if she is at the shower. You will be soo busy doing things you won't even see her. And besides, why would she want to be there in the first place if she is so jealous, I would think going to your shower would just make her more jealous. So if she's there, she's there, don't get upset, you seriously will be so busy with people you care about, eating and opening presents you won't even notice her except when you go around and say hello and good bye. Don't let her get to you.

Families go so crazy trying to plan these things that they forget their main purpose:

To make YOU happy.
