My question is...Why do some people feel the need to bash brides? Can't we all just get along?

I agree- I think some of what this original post had was true- HOWEVER the way it was said was simply rude. No need for that...Lets all just get along...no need to bicker over something like this!

I think it is very important to note that none of us (unless there is a wedding planner among us) is an expert at wedding planning. The purpose of this site is to get advice, relay experiences, and sometimes to vent. No one is expecting something for nothing, all anyone really expects is to be treated fairly.

think that just because they are getting married, everyone is going to give them things for nothing/discount just because they are a bride?
I say this because of another post I read where brides where complaining about the business practices of dress salons.
Yes, it is supposed to be the happiest time of our lives, but to all of the vendors, it is business as usual. Just like buying a car, you need to do your friggin homework, and not expect vendors to give you the best prices just because you are a glowing bride to be!!!!!
Boo hoo, so they ripped the tags out of the dresses, big deal. Be smarter than them and find the damn thing yourself. No one's going to tell you, oh, so and so has the dress cheaper, you should go there!!!
Everyone has a right to make $$$, just because we are on the spending end of it, it doesn't make it different than anything else.
We all as brides need to grow up and find the deals ourselves!!!!!! I know many (and myself included) who find and negotiate better prices, it can be done, just invest a little time, and if you don't want to, then you must pay.
Sorry for the rant, just needed to get that off my chest.
First of all, I NEVER said I was looking for nothing or a discount. Quite the contrary, that is what YOU did, my dear.
I searched HOURS for dresses in which that I liked and it just so happened that this dress was pulled that I didn't even think I would like. Wow, what a shock, that never happened before right? I'm now searching for styles similar to the dress I tried on, not that exact dress as it was out of my budget. You seem to like twisting my words around.
Other than the fact that yes, they rip tags out because they don't want people to look for discounts, but it is also possible that they can try and sell you a dress stating it's a more expensive quality of fabric than it is. That is the real scam here as well.
I just think it's wrong for a retailer to willfully withhold this type of information from their consumers and all I said was that I would not give them business, not that I wouldn't do any research myself.

I guess I was taken the wrong way, and was a little extra antsy/b!tchy today, normally I'm not like that, and I apologize to anyone who took offense.

Businesses will do legal and illegal things all the time, whether it be right or wrong. I prefer not to honor those establishments with my business so any shop I found that practiced removing tags were ones I walked out on. I have a computer and was able to take matters into my own hands and research online. As weird as it may seem, not everyone is computer savvy or can travel.
