Why do we get excited when we see celebrities?

Why do we get excited when we see celebrities?

I hate that I do, but it's cool to see someone you've see on ads, movies, etc... especially when they're not quite what you expected.

Don't get me wrong... I've never cried, or gotten shaken up, or gone 'crazy', but I do take a peek, and keep it moving...

What do ya'll think?

I really don't get that excited, I'm like oh that's cool but it would have to be a major celebrity that I liked for me to get all shaken up.

We get excited because...I don't know why I saw Tommy Lee @ Webster Hall & Spike Lee at a soccer game. He let me take pics w/ him. It's just cool I guess.

Ok, I got a few..Going to Cheetah Lounge I ended up in VIP by chance so I met, Derek Jeter, and Kevin from the Backstreet Boys. Oh and the Mario guy from Bronx Tale.

I was in CT on a day trip to eat Frank Pepe's Pizza...my FH raves about it. While on line to this restaurant (yes, a line) I noticed a man about 20 min into our wait. Im like, Hey looks like the dad from Wonder Years. My friends smacked me for just realizing it.
Sure enough he heard me and smiled at me. We got in and everyone wanted his autograph.
I didnt want to look too star struck and asked and went home empty handed.

I am obsessed with famous people..sometimes I look like an idiot because I am trying to scope out the person to see if it's really that person..I did this yesterday..I thought I saw Claire Daynes in the subway yesterday..I couldn't tell if it was her or not...why would she take a subway?? If I had all her money, I would be driving around in a limo all day..

I probably looked like a total stalker, but I couldn't help myself..

It probably was her... she takes the train from time to time... as do a lot of other celebrities. Despite having the luxury life, sometimes the subway IS a lot faster than road traffic.

because they are richer, better looking, and people like them, so we think WE should liek them and wanna see why...

I totally didn't answer the question . I think we get excited because they're so 'important'. You always see their pictures in magazines and you see them on TV, but seeing pictures never compares to seeing somebody in real life.
