Why don't men do anything????????

Why don't men do anything????????

FH did not lift a FINGER to plan our honeymoon. I did all the speaking to the travel agent. Fine.
Today I spent HOURS on the phone trying to use FF miles for the flights, and finally got everything all done. I tell him I am exhausted from dealing with all this, and he laughs at me. What is he laughing at? He has no idea. I do all the work, and he reaps the benefits.
The one thing I asked him to do TWO MONTHS AGO - call the hotel to book a room for the wedding night he still hasn't done. And when I ask him about it he gets all annoyed!!
GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Update: Ok, I do have to put in a good word for FH.. he called me and apologized and said he appreciates everything I do...

Well it could be worse. I have groomzilla, he registers for things on-line and I have no idea what is in the boxes when they arrive at the house.

I can understand totally. Not that he hasn't been involved b/c he has w/ big stuff, but its stuff like when I leave him notes to call the jeweler or call the limo company to find out when their next showcase is & yet I come home from work & it's still not done. That gets me more aggravated!!! I would have rather just done it myself to begin with. URRRRRRRRR

I like to blame it on their mothers for doing everything for them for their whole lives.

HA! I know what you mean

FH and I just got back from a showcase to meet with our DJ and when we walked in the house he goes 'you owe me one'

I agree 100%...FH only learned about a year ago how to do his own laundry (he's 27), so guess how much that helps me!

FH has done nothing except book the band, and of course that was one of the first things we had to do!!!!

They really don't want to be bothered, and sometimes I think it may be better.

Totally understand - I have asked FH to complete his side of the guest list 60 times! I told him I wasn't going to ask anymore and if he doesn't give me the names and addresses then those people won't be invited. And I mean it!

My DH did absolutely NOTHINg for our wedding or HM. It was really frustrating at times, but at the end of the day, I was able to do and plan pretty much anything I wanted.

My suggestion. Stop doing things for them. I had to do this a few times - works wonders.

Yes. For me, it also helped to phrase things this way: if you don't book the suite for our wedding night, I am sleeping at my parents house - without you.

Re: Why don't men do anything????????

My FH actually asked if he had to go with me to get the marriage license!!! He claims that he was joking, but I nearly took his head off. He also actually had the nerve to roll his eyes at me when I told him how much the flowers were going to cost...umm, if you were so concerned about the cost of flowers, maybe you should've come to the florist appointments with me, sweetie!

The smartest thing I ever did was telling him that I wanted the HM to be a surprise. I CAN'T be involved in the planning, and I LOVE THAT! Plus, I know he'll get it done because it's the one wedding related thing that he's really excited about.

That's a great idea for the HM!! I'm just afraid that he'll choose something local (Bahamas) when I really want to do something exotic and different! If we don't do it now I'm afraid that we never will!

I can't complain about FH in the planning- he's been pretty involved but he didn't listen when I asked for a destination wedding. When vendors come in higher than he wanted b/c we weren't estimating cost correctly he starts to wonder if we can still elope (we're too far in now tho). At least he's with me and agrees that he low-balled things. Now he's paying for it b/c I'm not pulling my weight finanicially (for now).

FH family is too involved b/c in his culture it's all about the groom! His brother complains that we are 'getting away' with things when I make decisions based on what I want! Sometimes no involvement is better!!
Laughing through it helps! It'll all work out!

oh i feel so much less alone now, i thought it was just my FH's problem. i hate having to tell him to do something a zillion times and then it still never gets done.
