Why don't men do anything????????

Re: Why don't men do anything????????

I wish he wasn't so interested so I could do what I want!

He came to everything with me and offered his opinions.

Now, I try to slip things by him but he catches me!

I was going to jump on this bandwagon, but then yesterday my FH called the photographer to make an appt to meet to discuss our wedding. Didn't even have to ask him to!!

The ones who don't do anything just don't care.

They really just arent interested in wedding stuff like we are I guess.

I have to say I'm one of the lucky ones...FH is as enthusiastic as me, goes everywhere with me, all the vendors, even negotiates with them..he's been wanting his dream wedding also! we agree on most things...he did the whole honeymoon planning..i couldn't be luckier b/c i think if i had to do it on my own, it would drive me crazy!

Just tell him that if he doesnt help out with the planning of the HM you would be more than happy to ask someone else to go with you See how fast he helps then!

Well said, this is my case as well!! FH and I are in this together!!!!!!! We even do the DIY projects together.

My DH was involved every step of the way. We planned everything together. I did all the research in the beginning and narrowed it down to a few choices and then we discussed them and chose together. He came to every appointment and gave his opinion.

My FH is the same way. He's also had some definate opinions about some little things that I didn't expect him to (ie what we have 'thrown' as we leave the church - he wanted bubbles. I didn't have an opinion so we went with bubbles).

I did/will give him tasks to do. He was in charge of the hotel for OOT guests. Although I had to write out the list of questions he needed to ask.

We pretty much go to every appointment together and decide on everything together. Although I know I will be doing all of the DIY work, which I am fine with.

I'm really surprised..my FH has been great and involved with a lot of details, too. Surprised b/c he was very 'this is ALL YOU!' beforehand but once he saw what was involved I think he realized he cared about the details and wanted to help.
The only annoying thing is he complains about me spending so much time on the computer but he doesn't get I am doing research for our wedding and honeymoon!
I mean, he helps, but I do the background work for the most part and then he comes along to the appointments with me and we decide together...I guess he thinks every vendor is just great and you can go anywhere and have a perfect wedding with no research involved!

my FH is pretty involved...sometimes i have to lure him though (I had to tell him how cool the registry zapper is in order to get him to go with me). Today we ordered our invitations and he actually cared about the justification of the text on the invitations...that was weird.

Some men do some things. They just either do too much, or not enough.

When it came to picking a catering hall, I set up all the appointments and went either with my mom or by myself, until I narrowed it down to a few that I liked. Then he came with me. He set up a spredsheet on his computer with the budget and a comparison chart of all the halls that were checked out.

He hates bargaining over anything, and got a little (check that, a lot) annoyed with me when I refused to just sign a contract and wanted a few things thrown in. Ultimately, I got what I wanted (and what he wanted) at a price we could afford.

He came with me to all the photographers. That was a little annoying, because he wanted to book the very first one we met with simply because he didn't want to shop around. He didn't like the experience of shopping around when we looked at catering halls. Ultimately though, he admitted I was right to check out as many as we did, and we are very happy with our ultimate choice.

He is completely skipping the florists, but he did all the research for the honeymoon, and ran everything by me before we went to the travel agent to book. But he also said he would talk to the travel agent at his job to see if she could get us a deal, and he never did. Same thing with limos, he said he would check out getting us the corporate rate, and he never did.

All in all, he has been okay with the wedding planning. There are times when I want to strangle him, but there are also times when I just want to squeeze him as tight as I can.

I have a question? if your man doesn't do anything (cook, clean, help plan the wedding, etc.....)

A. why are ya getting married?
B. what does he do that is productfull?

Wow, that's a little harsh. My Dh didn't do squat to help plan the wedding, but I married him for tons of other reasons. The fact that he's not a 'planner' didn't/wouldn't make me not want to marry him.
