here we go AGAIn with what i want for xmas from FH's family...
i want BOOKS, the last BORNE DVD, Or stuff off our registry...
what happens... everyone told FH to tell me NO BOOKS!?@@#$@!# w t F!

so then FH tells me well my god mother wants to get u clothes.. and im like um i dotn want clothes... and i havent RETURNED the last thing she bought me that doest fit...
(my mom bought me clothes for chanukah and has been back FOUR times bc its tough to find a size for me, i cant be bothered. )
so my POINT.... i may be miserable with clothes for xmas when all i want are books and stuff off our regisrty
why ask then tell me what im gonna get bc they arent 'satisified' with what i REALLY want

That stinks! Why bother asking if they are not going to hear what you are saying. I rather receive and give what people WANT!! Not what I think would be best!

seriously.. im so annoyed that his godmother ASKED and i even told her books,,, and she tells FH so im not gettign her books... how about clothes!?

I hate that too! My fathers side of the family is like that. They ask what I want and I tell them gift cards or cash. And they get me clothes I dont wear or fit, or some kind of christmas decoration that I have no room for!! ARRRRGGHHHH!! , SO I def feel ya!

Oh look, you and my Debi share the same spelling of your name!! Cool!! Ok, now down to business!!!! I'm totally with you!!!!! Why can't people understand? As I've said before, my kids don't look at printer ink, etc., and practical things as gifts, but I do. I think this falls under The Five Love Languages book. Loving people, and the ways it's expressed, can mean different things to different people. Likewise, gifts, in my opinion. Certain gifts, what the receiver says they REALLY want, are loving gestures to them, when received. It's not that they don't appreciate other gifts, but it means that you've listened to what they've said regarding what they'd love to have, and to them, that's a loving gesture toward them. Mary MOB

Tell them expensive jewelry. Say 'I want books or jewelry.' They'll prob get you books!

gee what is so hard about buying you a book, i love books, fh gets me one every year. tell them to get you a g.c so you can shop for your self.

i am in the same position lol i gave FH a whole list of books I want and he thinks thats not good enough. with our budget, thats all i really want and it'll make me happy. and if i tell a family member i want something off our registry their like but thats for you and fh, dont u want something for urself?

You all are giving me a good idea ... I think I will ask someone for a itunes gift card so I can download an audio book to my ipod!!!! i like reading but find I do not have time lately to read. I like listening to audio books though in the car.

07er crashing!!! My MIL will never get me something that I actually like! I have given up on hoping that she will suddenly see the light, lol!! We were engaaged for a year, and they did not buy us a single thing off of our registry! We got many 'gifts' from them that they did expect us to use (even at the wedding), but nothing that we picked out, of course! Sorry to say, but get used to it! Just go with the flow, say 'thank you' and don;t put any stress into buying gifts for these people, lol!!!
