Why is everyone pulling down their controversial threads

Why is everyone pulling down their controversial threads

Come on -- we should feel hindered because of a few people who may or may not get offended

We have a right to make our own decisions on what to read and we can't do that if people keep pulling the threads

Re: Why is everyone pulling down their controversial threads

Are you trying to start controversy with this thread??

I think that people might not realize that people might be offended by the particular topic when they post it, but once they see a reaction, may wish to remove it, so as not to make anyone uncomfortable.

I know if I posted something that bothered people, I would want to remove it, rather than leave it there to cause a reaction.

then there should be a line in the up front that says, this may offend you, if so, don't read on

i'm not trying to start anything but if i happen to by voicing my opinion, so be it

Don, Earlier today you took offense when I replied to one of your suggestions.

Remember this 'yeesh -- no need to bite my head off '

Maybe people don't want to deal with the BS and drama when people get upset for no reason, It's just a message board and no one can hear the tone someone is typing when not everyone agrees so they just pull it.

But if it MAY offend some people, I personally wouldn't want to have the thread up with my name on it. No, everyone doesn't have to read it, but I try not to intentionally offend anyone if I can help it. That's all.

I wasn't saying that you can't have your opinion....I was just voicing why I think people pull certain threads.

and if you read further down i said you were entitled as a person to bite my head off if you wanted to

that was your choice -- while i commented that i didn't understand your strong reaction to my opinion, i in no way took offense

like you said, it's just a message board, so who cares what's up there

I'm sure they didn't intentionally mean to offend people. People post a joke when they think it's funny and they want to share...but once they realize people might not find it funny and may be offended....they might wish to remove it, so as not to offend anyone unintentionally.

I pulled it when I remembered that there was a democate joke (I think it was the minutes of hte Democratic National Convention and it the line I remember over and over again was Kennedy toasts) not too long ago and the poster got their head bit off so I though that posting a rebuplican joke would probably result in the same contraversy. Don, I will change the x to make you feel better.
