Why is it so hard for some people to be happy for others???????????????

How is everyone feeling about this, has the wedding brought out the worst in your family and friends?????????

OMG yes. For the majority no, but for some absolutely......it's unbelievable to me how much drama a wedding can cause among family. it's disgusting to me.

yup and it gets worse as it gets closer. FH is so depressed about how many of his family memebers arent even coming to the wedding. Just wait people just you wait when you have something big we wont be a coming to your function or we will throw fits ect.

Yup. Lost a BM and a couple of 'friends' who take her side without even talking to me about it. I'm better without them in my life though.

knew my FILs were going to make my life a living hell during planning, so that was expected. But poor FH has had such a problem with his best man....he really let us both down three times in the past 2 weeks.

Oh yea ... I keep hearing 'well, you dont have to get your makeup done professionally' or 'well you dont have to have a shower' and 'why do you need professional photography' from people ... ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? My shower is not my choice, its what my BP wants to do ... Yes, I need my makeup done, and OF COURSE I want pictures of the wedding - its what keeps the memories alive! And this was only from one couple! I've been let down so much from so many people, its ridiculous! But whatever, it makes me more grateful for the people in my life that are helping with the wedding!

Girls this is exactly the reason for my surprise reception!!! I have watched weddings tear people/families/friends apart. I couldn't handle it...I am a sick girl and stress and anxiety make it worse....I needed something laid back and fun bc at the end of the day people should be there celebrating your marriage and your upcoming life together....

ive been disappointed in a few family members.

my brother chose work over my e-party (but really he had beef with my dad)

my sister chose to stay home rather then face my brothers wife for my bridal shower ( they had beef recently)

but then i've also had a few people come out of left field and just SHINE. surprising me with support, love, and money

Yup yup

What i learned is just dont talk about the wedding with anyone who gives you stress, I only talk about my wedding to my Fiance and vendors, very rarely my close friend and sisters, but nothing that asks for opinion

try it girls it Helps i promise, as for the other drama, just take the stance that its you and your FH against the world, and the haters will crumble lol

yes!!!! somepeople are being flaky, others are arguing and demanding we not invite other family members. I'm really disappointed in a lot of people.

But i started to realize at the end of the day..its really about me and FH so I'm not letting all the pettiness get to me. When people are rude to me, i give it to them right back. When the flaky people dont show up, i call them out on it! no one is going to ruin my day!!1

Yup! Some of my friends have told FH and I, and our two other engaged friends, that hanging out with us isn't conducive to their lifestyle anymore because we hold them back from meeting people.

UMMM HELLO? When we all go out as a group all the guys hang out together and all the girls hang out together. I have found that a lot of people, now that we have rings on our fingers, think that something has magically changed from when we were dating and now they don't want to hang out with us. It's hurtful.
