Why so secretive about pricing?

Re: Why so secretive about pricing?

Okay
WOTL, I got a price of 85 and 95 for a saturday night in April or May. THis was for hte SAME Package by 2 different people! The guy who gave us 95 was so shady we didnt trust him!

Beach Club is supposed to be beautiful and a little less than WOTL but is owned by the same people

Atlantica a friend is paying 90 for a Sunday afternoon (but there is only one wedding per day)

Flowerfield I have heard starts at about 120 and goes to about 165

East Wind, I didnt check prices there but they are really a nice place beautiful!

Another idea might be Port Jeff Country Club, its ont he water and was recently bought by Villa and they are doing renovations so you could probably get a good price!

Good LucK

ETA I just got so excited when I noticed I am not addicted! Its the simple things in life!

My bro got married many years ago at PJCC. The room was leaking! They put and hung plants to catch the drips. I doubt I would even trust them, now that they are Lombardi property. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Damn, if Flowerfield is $120 a person starting, you just saved me a trip. Appreciate that.

My sister is getting married at Villa Lombardis on a Friday night in March. She is paying about $100 per person!!!!! She added in all the extras and also did not negotiate. She is the type that when she wants something she doesn't care how much it is she has to have it now! IMO it is very expensive, almost double of what I am paying for a Friday night in September.

IMO I feel your best bet is to make a trip to the catering hall and talk to them...prices are not set in stone and time of yr, day vs. night all play into the price. You need to go to the catering hall. It can be a pain to make all those trips but its worth it to find a place you like thats also in your budget...

People can be shady about money, I have no idea why. People ask me all the time how much I paid for this and that. I'll spit it right out, doesn't bother me in the least!

I recently posted Flowerfields on season prices for someone. You the sake of not repeating my self, I won't post them again. If you'd like to know, I'll send it to you.
We paid $115pp ++ for a Friday night in April, 150 minimum.

Re: Why so secretive about pricing?

I think it is crazy too! I always post prices because I think it is important for people to see the wide range of money people can spend.

For example, if people read these boards they most frequently see that people are paying $2,000 to $4,000 for photo packages. For brides having more lavish weddings, it is frustrating when you are quoted $8,000. So your view gets distorted. You start to think that you are an idiot for paying that kind of money. But in reality, there is a wide range of quality and prices. I want people spending $100,000+ on their wedding to feel ok about it. Because, really, there are people spending a lot more!!!

I hope that this explains my point. I am not sure if I accomplished this.

Good call, I shoulda done this before.
Would be for Nov/Dec of 2005 either Friday or Sat night, 100 guarentee

Villa Lombardi
East Wind
Atlantica
Windows on the Lake
Flowerfield
Beach Club Estates

I am getting married at Beach Club Estate...I was quoted $74.95 pp for April...which is off season...I negotiated down to $65pp. We are having a Saturday afternoon affair. I was told it would be $5 more pp for a Saturday night. Hope that helps!

Well said AM470.

I agree. I bought a dress for under $900 but am paying 10X that for photography.

It all depends on taste, priorities...and degree of temporary mental illness!!!

Re: Why so secretive about pricing?

I think people don't answer because they will get angry that they are paying more in my opinion. I just saw two posts about Flowerfield and I am paying more then both for a Friday in November. And I am guaranting 275 people! I should have never read this post FYI: Flowerfield's off season is Jan-March and their prices go up significantly in 2005!! Also you need a minimum of 125 guests being the lowest and that is for a Thursday night

Yup. I should never have read this post, either. Argh! And here I thought I was pretty darn good at not getting ripped off. Sucka!

keep in mind, nothing is written in stone. While person 'A' may walk into any vendor...they may get this price. But if person 'B' only wanted certain services, they will get offered a different price. Negotitate everything possible and explore your option. If you take it for granted, your price of wedding could sky rocket

Re: Why so secretive about pricing?

I think I remember being quoted at East Wind being approximately in the mid $80's pp for the regular package on a Sunday Afternoon in October. It goes up slightly for upgrades.

Wasn't there a post just like this a while back? Or am I just crazy?
