Maybe they should be looking into the Clinton administration....

Um, he's no longer president.

Really ,thanks for telling me I meant his adminstration when he was president

It's so difficult to decipher things sometimes.

Anyway, Clinton did try to do something...but when he did the Republican's just accused him of wagging the dog to cover up the Lewinski debacle.

Yes he did try but how funny , he only knew during the Lewinky times?? I find that hard to believe. Next time if you need me to decipher just ask do not automatically respond with an obnoxious remark.

I respond how I see fit.

Like I said, round and round we go.

I hardly think that this investigation is going to be productive though...that is why I think it is a waste of time....I know you need to find out about history and such, but this will inevitably turn into a high school finger pointing game........and that is where it will loose all its meaning. I honestly don't think anything productive will come out of this.....jmo

Yes we should be looking into where things went wrong but to find or accuse the Bush adninistration as the only one who failed is a personal attack , don't you think we need to follow the chain !

Bush is NOT the only one being called before the panel. Clinton is testifying, Gore is testifying, Clark testified. They are starting at the end of the chain and working backwards. It makes sense.

If you actually read what is being said- there are faults being placed on ALL administrations- NOT just Bush's ... However- where I think the major issue is here is whether or not Bush really said, 'let's see if this was Saddam' when it cleary was not and why he pulled our boys out of Afghanistan when the job was finished and sent them to Iraq...

Someone needs to take accountability for what happened - finger pointing or not. I hope your opinion is proven wrong and that our government (somehow) manages to learn from this. I guess only time will tell.

Exactly.

The only one who is pointing fingers is Bush. When someone says what he doesn't want to hear, he's the one that starts with the personal attacks and the character assasination.. Lets not even talk about the CIA operative leak- this adminstration is FILLED with people who have been f-ed b/c Bush didn't like what they had to say.

I'm sick and tired of it! Talk about wasting time- maybe he could stop whining and come out with it already...

Is there a chance Bush, Clinton etc can be brought up on charges for anything that he has done?

Re: Why the investigation with Condolezza RIce testifying

Not unless they prejure themselves or commit a crime against humanity- and I doubt either Bush or Clinton did any of those things.. However, the outcome can greatly affect Bush's re-election campaign (well, one can only hope it does )

Here’s my 2 cents.
Yes, I know I’m a bit over the top about this. It’s all pure emotion. I’ll admit that. I’m not mastermind government genius who can tell you EXACTLY what did or didn’t happen. I’m just a lowly voter with a voice.

I agree that I find Condi Rice to be an intelligent woman.
I think the media is full of crap and likes to tell us how to think.
Condi Rice HAS testified and been interviewed in private with the commission.
Bush Sr, Clinton & Bush Jr (as they are called) are all equal in this if you believe they could have actually STOPPED it.

I don’t blame the administrations. I blame the American people in general, including myself, assuming there is blame to lay. We hate when the administration of our country tries to tell us how to run our lives of the lives of our neighbors. We all get huffy about it. We don’t want them to know too much about us, but think they should just ‘know’ all about the bad guys in our country without breaking any privacy laws or seeming too ‘mean’. They should just ‘know’ without assuming or unfairly treating all other citizens or non-citizens, profiling or prying into private files and threatening our civil rights. Sure that sounds possible.

What I hate most about this commission is that it’s a waste of time and taxpayer money. I agree we should investigate what went wrong to prevent it from happening again, but I think the American people will not like the solutions to this problem. Look at Israel and how they live, do we want to live like that? Have our purses checked when we go the mall? Be under constant suspicion? No we don’t want that.

We want someone we can point a finger at and say “They are to blame”. My whole argument with that theory is that I have 19 men I can easily point out for you and say it is indeed REALLY all their fault. Nothing we could have done would have prepared us for this. They didn’t take our airplanes with machine guns, they took them with plastic knives and fear. They beat us because they were willing to think ugly and use that ugliness against us. Who WOULD fly a plane into a building? Only monsters!

Does it take millions of dollars and time to figure out that we got caught with our pants down? All of us. From Bush to the men & women on those airplanes and the men & women in those buildings. This was an act of huge monstrosity. One we couldn’t have planned for because it was outside the realm of our reality at the time. Nowadays, try taking an airplane hostage with a plastic butter knife? At least half the cabin will attack you. We won’t don’t want to die, none of us do, but we won’t kill other innocent Americans if we can help it. We won’t allow terrorist to use us a living bomb which we will die anyway only to destroy the lives of thousands of others. This was done once and we won’t allow it to happen again.

Hell, I’ll blame God. I don’t care who we blame. Stop this constant whining about it and spend that money and time learning to think monstrous things so that they can’t think of it first. Hire people who think the unthinkable. Then tell them to think of worse things.

Yes but I am only hearing the fact that it is Bush's fault never once did I hear anyone say on here that there are others at fault. I read what the links have said but I was confused as to why no one seeing that there was others as fault.

I don't understand what was so wrong about Bush saying 'Let's see if Saddam was behind the attacks' On Sept. 12, how was it clear that he had not supported terrorists?

We are in election year - anyone who wants Bush out is going to concentrate more on his fault in this, than in past faults. Not always fair, but that's life.

That's probably b/c you only watch Fox News or some other conserative news channel or read a conservative paper.. they WANT you to think they are only looking into Bush b/c they want you to see this as a conspiracy to remove him from office.

Sassyz75 Posted:

Re: Why the investigation with Condolezza RIce testifying

do you not think that Bush didn't have any info on what Saddam was up to or what Osama was up to? We had that type of information- it was pretty much 99% affirmed on 9/12 that Saddam was not involved... hell- Bush would've taken it as involvement if Saddam sold Osama a freaken T-Shirt!

Or maybe I should watch CNN, who conveniently leaves out parts of news stories to further its liberal agenda... How about the fact that Condi Rice did testify privately in front of the 9/11 commission? Didn't hear that one on CNN...

By the way, Fox News is not totally conservative. Just look at their primetime line-up: O'Reilly - Independent, Hannity - conservative, Colmes - liberal, van Susteren - leans more left than right.

Totally agree on both points, Sassy.

Re: Why the investigation with Condolezza RIce testifying

There is no such thing as liberal television.
Sassyz75 Posted:

Re: Why the investigation with Condolezza RIce testifying

O'Reilly IS NOT INDEPENDENT- ARE YOU KIDDING ME? God the O'Reilly factor is basically- lets get some liberal on here so I can yell at them! What-ev. a REAL independent is Bill Maher.

To get a total opinion- how about you read a few papers- watch some DIFFERENT news channels- and come up with your own ideas.. that's what I do.

I don't need to be spoon fed.
