Well now look. Untrained and unprepared soldiers who are using outdated items and poor intelligence are sent out to face a group of people who train since childhood in gorilla warfare. Our chance are less likely to be sucessful other than brute numbers and force, which means innocent US soldiers die due to lack of training and then people snake that around to blame the government for having them there at all instead of blaming the government for not training them better, because we americans love to support our troops as long as we dont have to pay for it.

What I hate most about this commission is that it’s a waste of time and taxpayer money.

and the Lewinsky scandal was not?

I don't care if my president got a BJ, I DO care if we sent our troops to be killed due to a personal vendetta...

Actually I think the Lewinsky 'scandal' was stupid too. He lied, end of story. He committed what I would considered adultry and frankly I think he's a slimball for it. Who cares? That isnt why I didnt like him as a president. I didnt like him because his so called financial plan literally removed my financial aid to school. I remember the call and the letter and his military reduction cost the jobs of thousands in my town of San Antonio because of him closing bases.

If he got his little peter up at the sign of a chic in a barret or not doesnt matter to me.

Saddam needed to be taken out. Vendetta or not. He supported terror and it was a convinent opening? Fine I dont care what we call it he needed to be taken out. Our troops are killed? Yes of course they are. You can't go to war and just assume we all come home safely. But you can train them better to HOPE they can survive it.. oh but ... nevermind we pulled those funds already.

Look my father, brother and every male in my family signed up to serve and to die for our rights and freedoms and do what ever they were told to do by the commander-and-chief of this nation. They didnt sign up for free college or to see the world. They did it cause they know they do/did what very few ever wanted to do and they did what others just couldnt do.

Personal Vendetta? That Saddam A-hole's take down isnt just a personal vendetta of Bush and his family it's a personal vendetta of every man, woman and child who has lost a love one to his terror and opression. You think NO americans have EVER felt his hate? No American ever worked in Iraq or had family there?

Do the means justify the ends? I can honestly admit I can't answer that. I'd be foolish to say I just 'know' but i can say this. The action is done. And frankly I think the world is better off for it, no matter how you justify it. We don't like our hands bloody but we want the deed done and so it was done. I fully expected Bush to fry for this. But if so then I consider him a Martyr for it.

I think you and i are polar opposites

Bush is far from a martyr in my eyes...I would support removal of Saddam, just not in the way it happened...

Lets agree to disagree..
Although honestly re-reading even I think Martyr is a big lofty of a title for any politician!

Has anyone read his book yet? I just bought it yesterday but I haven't started it.

I don't like to jump to conclusions about anything based on what the media is saying. I haven't read Clark's book and I haven't heard what Rice has to say (other than she doesn't want to testify) so I am not sure that I have formed an opinion yet.

It is interesting but like you said dont jump to conclusions too soon, weigh the facts and sides...
