i can't get into the details b/c i don't think there is enough room on this entire website for it!!!! this close to my wedding my MOH is no longer in the wedding or my friend......i had to let her go. i've just had the last straw, about the wedding and not about the wedding!!!!!! this has been building for awhile and i finally had to do what was best for me...but it still hurts, she was one of my best friends, and it always hurts to lose a friend. just needed to vent...thanks!

Re: why this close to the wedding!!
My MOH (my best friend of nearly 12 years) basically stopped talking to me and ended our friendship the week of my wedding for an incredibly stupid reason. It started over driving arrangements and she blew things completely out of proportion, so even though I don't know what happened between you and your MOH, I can definately sympathize (sp?). I know how hard it is.

Re: why this close to the wedding!!
I am so sorry to hear that...I had a similar situation--except it happened 10 months before my wedding. Although I was sad that I had to lose a friend since childhood I think it was better off in the end. I haven't talked to her since Feb & honestly I miss her but she was the one who went a little nuts...I think sometimes friends can't handle other people's happiness b/c they have things going on in their life & just can imagine that someone else could be happy. Although I don't know what happened b/w you & your MOH I hope that everything works out for you...and that you did the right thing. Its hard but w/ time it will get easier.

I'm really sorry to hear that!
why is it that weddings bring out the worst in friends?
A friend of mine who I have known since we were 11 yrs old told me a few weeks ago that she may not be able to come to my wedding. she moved down to GA last year and said she may not be able to afford it. Then proceeds to tell me about her giant diamond engagement ring that her hubby just bought her to replace her old one.

I had a similar situation with my MOH but it was about 9 months before the wedding. Sometimes friendships change and it takes a big event like a wedding to bring those changes/problems in the relationship to the surface. In the end, it was really for the best and I don't regret ending our friendship .

if we continue to work things out now and still be friends we will wind up hating each other in the end. i think maybe we have grown out of each other. it's weird, she's somoeone i never thought i wouldn't always be friends with....but i do feel like a weight has been lifted off my back by not having her around right now. she was just so critical of everything i do, she's one of those i think i know everything, i'm older, my way is the right way kind of person, and i finally came to my breaking point now during the wedding, b/c she pulled that crap with me about the wedding and my everyday life!!! i guess after 7 years one person can only take so much!! i'll give you an example, when i was still in the car on my way home from the NRC i called her to tell her i booked the wedding and how excited we were, her response.....your kidding right? no i'm not joking, why? her....b/c the food at that place is terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what kind of a friend tells you that about your wedding??!! she apoligized and i told her she's gonna eat her words litterally at the wedding b/c the food was amazing! there is alot more i could say but that's just one example....oh well everything happens for a reason

Re: why this close to the wedding!!
I know how you feel...I am so close to asking my MOH to step down. She has been my BF for 28 years but I'm fit to be tied. She is extremely spoiled and always seems to know best. Last week when she told me wanted out of MOH I should have let her quit. I honestly don't know how her and I are going to continue a friendship after the wedding. I think that it's amazing what weddings do to people. I don't know whether it's jealousy or selfishness but I don't have time for either.

I am so sorry also ..It must hurt and be hard, but you seem to be strong and able to deal with what life throws your way.... I have been having a similar problem with a friend (and my wedding is less than a month away!!!) and I am just trying to keep my distance, because if I don't I may blow up (something I don't want to do right now so close to the wedding). I am sorry you are going through this right now and good luck!!

Re: why this close to the wedding!!
i think i know what you are going through! i am so glad my sis is my MOH b/c we can fight all we want to and still get over it no hard feelings. with friends not so much the same.
i recently stopped talking to my friend of 8 years who was supposed to be a BM b/c i just could not take it anymore. she was always hurting me big time. i think she thought i would just take it b/c i 'needed' her in my wedding party but honestly i just couldnt keep on taking her crap just because i need her in my wedding. i would rather have a small wedding party than keep up a charade. the worst part is i know it hurts me more than it hurts her... but i think that in the long run it is worth it. it just opens up more time in your life to make room for a real friend.

Re: why this close to the wedding!!
I know how you feel, kinda. I'm starting to realize that one of my friends (a BM) is really not that nice to my other friends. With my wedding coming up, it is becoming a more sticky situation. I hope we do manage to stay friends.
