Re: Will I regret NO video???
I had a videographer and I am really glad I did. I was able to see so many things I missed while being pulled all over the place the entire night.I really got to see that my guests had an amazing time. He was not intrusive at all.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
I know how u feel - I hate watching wedding videos they are so boring. Ultimately decided to get it for that fact that when our children grow up we can show them the video and not to sound morbid but when our parents pass on we will have this and be able to relive those moments so to speak...

Re: Will I regret NO video???
We too did not like the idea of a videographer, and just went with a very basic one just to have our day on video. THANK GOD WE DID! We got to see our day all over again from a totally different angle. We got to see all our family and friends dancing and having a blast! We asked for no guest interviews, just important family members. My only regret from the wedding is that I didn't spend more on a better more cinematographic videographer with more cameras. Good luck!

my married friends who have not really wish they did now looking back
Re: Will I regret NO video???
It's a personal preference just like some couples prefer not to have photography. I can't imagine a wedding w/o photography and video. However, that is just my personal preference. I think it's nice to have photos and video to reflect back to from the day of your wedding. True, photos capture those memories. However, it's completely different with a video b/c I feel it takes you back to those emotions on that day. And you get to look whenever you want and watch it together. The video captures those moments that photography can't take you. If it really makes it uncomfortable then you have to do what makes you happy. After all it's your big day.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
I would say for you to do what you're comfortable doing. I don't like to be center of attention and have the camera on me either, but honestly, you'll be so busy running around, dancing, talking, you won't even realize they're there. I will want to watch my video years down the road and show it to my kids and grandkids. If you have it and don't watch it, then at least it's always still there. If you don't have it, then there's no way for you to recreate the day 10, 20 years from now. I personally would just get it just so you don't regret it down the road. JMO though.

Re: Will I regret NO video???
I originally said no to video. But I was afraid I would miss things so I decided on a video my FH was not happy I changed my mind b/c of the extra cost. I am glad I decided to do it though
Re: Will I regret NO video???
I thought I would so I just booked video....I was dead set on not spending the money but I panicked and booked.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
We didnt do a video for our wedding because i hate seeing myself on video and also because of the money. Looking back now- i wish i would have at least taped the ceremony. If you dont end up hiring a video guy please have someone tape your ceremony...you wont regret it. I wish i would have had someone tape mine. It was the most beautiful part and i wish i could watch it over and over and have my kids (one day) watch it.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
my sister told me that the wedding goes by in a flash and all of the planning and anticipation is gone so quickly and...she doesn't even remember much of her wedding. the day was all a blur so she said to me, if you get the video you will always remember the speeches and little funny moments. also, pictures capture a moment in time where as video will bring that moment back to life all over again....jmo
Re: Will I regret NO video???
I couldnt imagine not having video - like some of the other ladies have posted - its so nice to be able to watch your wedding from another perspective & see all the things you missed while you were focusing on DH! Esp since $$ is not a factor I say GO FOR IT!
Re: Will I regret NO video???
I am having video because it was the one request my Mom had for the wedding. My mom told me she would prefer the video over the parent album because years from now you get to enjoy family members that are no longer around in action. After really thinking about it I decided to have video because she if felt she is right. My sister's wedding was over 10 years ago and we go back and look at my aunts and uncles that are no longer around or laugh at how young and awkward my brother was. I did make one request from my videographer....no interviews of parents or the bridal party and not to go around the tables for people to say somehing...I hate that! I just want them to capture the people, dancing and everyone having a good time.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
IMO I cannot imagine not having my wedding videotaped. Granted, I HATE seeing myself on video, but I dont think pictures could take the place of seeing and hearing everything and watching it on video.
Re: Will I regret NO video???
not doing video... but im not even really bummed about it! Pics will work for me!
