Will you be a Stay at Home Mom?

I've been thinking about this, I really don't want to stop working when I have kids. I'll go back to work after maternity leave (maybe part-time for awhile, maybe full right away) I always thought I wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom, but right now... I don't think I'd want to.

I won't be staying at home with my kids. I might do it while they are very young, but I did not spend 7 years of hard work and lots of money to get a bachelors and masters degree that i'm never going to use.

i wish i could, but i know it would be really hard to afford anything.

My FH would be a stay at home dad, but I'm not into it. Not because of the gender reversal, but he worked SO hard at school.... and he's busting his a$s -- and then after a year or two of being full-time in the job market for him to throw it away would make me sad.

like others said, i didn't spend all this time in college to be a stay at home mom. plus in the economy we would never be able to live on one salary.

however i will stay home until the kid starts full day school. i hope to have a job where i can leave at 3 so i can be home when the kid gets home from school.
