some people make cards.. if you decide you want to do something like that.. there are tons of poems you could use.
like:
The Day, the dress The Bride, the Groom The Joy the tears will all come soon
Confessing true love to my husband-to-be with family and friends all watching me Pray the sun will be shining down and that i will fit into my gown
Now there is just one more thing that is left to be and thats to have you standing with me...
Will you be my bridesmaid?

I bought the 'Will you be my bridesmaid' cards and then just wrote something to each one of them and asekd them that way =) They all pretty much knew already but still it was fun for me to do and nice for them to have.

i got adorable 'will u be my bridesmaid' cards & gave them each a longstem rose simple but cute - they loved it

I sketched the bridesmaid dress and bo-k as the cover to the card which I made out of construction paper in my wedding colors.
I opened the wording inside with a quote from a Dave Matthews Band song 'Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters'
In the spirit of that quote I wrote something unique to each maid that expressed that my special day would be more meaningful having her by my side.
I framed it for my MOH (my bff since 3rd grade)
Wow, explaining it, I feel like I was super cheesy!!
But every single one of them cried when they read it so I guess I did ok!

I got the cards that have the dress on the cover made out of actual fabric. Then, inside, I put a pic of us together and wrote a personalized letter to each of them about why I needed them with me. For FH's cousin I wrote that I needed her by my side when as I became part of her family, for my BFF who was there the night that we met, I said I needed her because she was tehre from the start, etc.

I bought rally cute note cards from Hallmark. For each card, I put a picture of myself in each one and wrote the following:
Friends will come and friends will go, The seasons change and it will show, I will age and so will you, But our friendship stays, strong and true.
Will you be my Bridesmaid? I promise I won't make you wear an ugly dress!!

I had cookies made up as well. They were individually boxed with a paper copy included in it. I actually got to design the color scheme, text (it was a poem for each of the bridesmaids and the MOH) and design of the cookies/paper copies. They were gorgeous!! I gave out cards with 'will you be my bridemaid and maid of honor on the outside' All the girls loved them and thought it was a great idea.

I asked my girls by sending them cute flip flop cookies in the color of the wedding theme, that said will you be my bridesmaid. I got them from weddingish.com...they were really cute and they put their names on them.

I just had a dinner party for all my girls i decorated my whole house with pink candles, flowers, pink balloons ( i am doing fuschia and light pink dresses) EVERYTHING was pink. I had cards made up with poems to ask and i handed them all out. The whole thing was so pretty and we had alot of fun i made pink drinks cosmos, champagne punch and we had a mini chocolate fountain it was great!!!!!!!

I got down on one knee in front of the girls (I did this with each girl separately at different times) and held a little box in my hand, and asked, 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' Then, when she accepted, I gave her the box which contained the pearls that are my present for her.
