Original post by JanuaryBride06

I think that it opened this week - I know it kicked off the Tribeca Film Festival.

I'd like to.....but mentally, I dont think I can handle it......too many emotions---mad, scared and sad at the same time.....I dont wanna go thru that again

This is how I feel too. It's just too soon, we're not ready for it. I'll prob end up seeing it at some point, but way after it's out of the theaters.

It is still too raw, I don't think I will ever have an interest in seeing it.

I miss my aunt and don't want to ever have to think about what happened to her on that day.

Like a previous post, it is in very poor taste to do this......

No...

I go to the movie's and watch them for entertainment and enjoyment that movie is definitely not entertaining more like depressing and a horrific reminder of something I will never want to relive.

No way. That was the worse day of my life and
I never want to relive it.

i'm intimidated by the movie so it will certainly take me a while to watch it. i doubt i'll see it in movie theaters but i will watch it at home where i could cry at any volume. of course no one would like to relive it, but i think it's good to gain more perspective. imo, i think everyone should watch it. whether it's to strengthen our resolve to fear the uncertain but most importantly, we should never forget.

I am in the minority here, but I can't wait to see it. I am intrigued. I'd like to see how they portray it.

Unfortunately, some of us will never forget, movie or not.

I am just wondering what perspective we can gain from something we cannot be completely sure is true......

there's plenty of conspiracy theories out there on 9/11. one theory that stuck out was how it was actually the US gov't who rendered WTC to its knees to frame Iraq and a known terrorist group. altho i would not be able to prove its falsehood, i refuse to believe it. it's absolutely insane. all i could do is come up with another theory that would make sense to me with the help of acquired information. so's this movie. the movie's by the writer's understanding of what has happened. and also from some of the victims' families. i don't have to necessarily agree with him/her but what i could do is respect it, understand it and possibly try to make sense out of it. honestly, i'm more compelled to watch it because some of hte victims' families are speaking out... and i'm gonna listen. granted it'll take me a while to build up the courage but i think i should hear them out.

if they money was going to the victims family- maybe

but I hate to say it but I don't believe the spin on what happened on that plane- I will always believe we shot the plane down- it crashed it a field- very close to Camp David and DC- so I don't think they would take that chance

JMO

Actually I was in college in DC on that day and one of my Prof was a consultant for the Dept of Def and said that it was shot down, as it was enroute to DC. We asked how he knew and all he would say is 'trust me... I know'. And this prof wasn't some crazy guy, he was probably the most rational person on campus...

How is this for crappy, i was flying home from florida on jetblue yesterday and as soon as the directv came on, there was an ad on one of the channels for that movie. I am a horrible flyer to begin with and that really just made me even more nervous

I'm surprised that it's getting such good reviews
I still can't bring myself to see it but I certainly didn't expect 3 and 4 star reviews.

I am actually NOT surprised that it got good reviews. I havent seen one review that is negative. I think when a movie dealing with this topic is put out there, a filmmaker cannot afford to make a BAD film or his career will be over before he knows it. It is almost like he has a serious obligation to be as true to the events as possible or he is done - no matter if his motivation to make the movie was to be informative OR dare I say provocative.

I just hope that the families feel he did the heroes justice as I have not seen the film and I don't know when or if I will. Regardless of any conspiracy theories, nobody may EVER know the real truth. I mean they are still trying to figure out if Lee Harvey Oswald worked alone. Honor the heroes in every way possible, let them rest in peace. Movie or no movie.
