Re: Windows on the Lake questions
I know two people who had weddings there (I wasn't at the weddings) and both had complaints about guests being seated in that side area of the main reception room - that it felt that they weren't even in the room. If you are not having too many people - I don't see that being a problem.

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
We are getting married at the Beach Club...same owners. I know on this board there have been some mixed reviews about them...but so far, they have been nothing but great to us. Everytime I call with a question, I get an answer right away or someone calls me back. I have to make an appointment to pick out menus and linens and stuff for early Februray. Hope that helps...good luck.

I was wondering if you booked at Windows. I am considering it. I read some bad reviews.

This is just my opinion, last time I wrote something I had my head bitten off, but I was not impressed with the place. We were put in a corner it felt like and I noticed they were packing up the cocktail hour food and putting it into tupperware containers and resuing it. Hope this helps.

Ever think maybe they were packing it up for the people whose event it was to bring it home??
I know they offered to pack it up for my sister at her wedding. We just didnt know where we were going to put it all.

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
I am having my wedding at windows on the lake in Nov. So far the staff and managment has been nothing but wonderful to my FI and I. I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it when I was at a wedding there 5 years ago. There are a bunch of mixed reviews here on this board about the place, but again, so far I have had nothing but great expreinces with them.
Best of luck to you in what ever you decide to do.

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
This is why I was reluctant in answering this thread. I am positive they were reusing it becuase we saw them bring it to another room and set up for another affair. My sister noticed it as well as a bunch of guests at the same affair we were at.

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
FSIL had her reception there in April. FH and I were not overly impressed but what got us most was the fact that they had two events beginning at the same time, so the valet was a long wait and then once you got inside there were no signs or people directing guests to the proper rooms.I don't know if this is standard elsewhere but, my cousin is a bartender there and they have to give the owner a % of their tips each night!
If you chose to book, take care of your bartenders!!!

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
I went to my future sister & brother-on-law's wedding there two years ago in November. I thought it was nice. It's your typical catering hall.... the waitstaff was excellent. I'm not sure how the food was, I never got a chance to eat and they remove your food! Oh well! But, overall, the place was very nice and I know they were extremely happy with it. Hope this helps:)

Re: Windows on the Lake questions
we had our reception there in May and had a few problems also, but i guess every place has issues.the food was great.
i agree that if you are having a large affair...it's not advisable. i felt like my guests were pushed off to the side and not included. the good thing was that they were on the dance floor most of the night!
if you want to know specifics, just let me know.
