wine bottles label removal

Does anyone have any experience or tips on how to remove the labels off of wine bottles. I am using them as favors and I just picked up all of my cases of wine. I know it's probably going to be a tedious task so I want to get a heads start! Thanks guys.

Soak the bottles in hot water and then scrap off label. We did this for our wine bottle guest book - and it was the worst.

ETA: I couldn't get the goo gone to work properly.

We really didn't have too hard a time with it. We soaked the bottles in the kitchen sink - laid them down and we could fit two rows, one on top of the other. We just filled the sink with room temperature water, let them sit for about 15-20 minutes, and then the labels just slid right off. FH was concerned about leaving on the back label with the 'info' on it - so we just didn't touch it and after it dried, you'd never even know it had been soaked.

I tried goo gone and for me it was a greasy mess. I soaked the bottles in slightly warm water and oxyclean and it worked great let them sit for like 15 minutes and the labels come right off.

Depends on the label I tried to put the new one over the old one but you could see the old label through the new one so I had to soak them off. In the long run it really was for the best the favors ended up looking very professional with just our label on it.
