I'm getting full size bottles of Red wine for my wedding favors. I was going to get enough bottles for each guest at my wedding but a few people are telling me I'm crazy and I should only get one bottle per couple...Financially, this would be great..but the problem is I'm nervous that people might take more than 1 and not everyone will get a favor. Someone had the idea of having someone working at my venue distribute them to each couple as they leave but I wanted them to be displayed. Also, I have a lot of Singles as guests and I thought that would become confusing...Is it crazy to purchase enough bottles for each guest?...They deffinitely will not go to waste if there are many extras!

ive seen it usuallly give as one per couple. i think the guests will figure it out. dont stress it.

If you can swing it, I'd do one per person.
OR have someone at the hall hand them out
OR
attach the place cards to them
The reason I say this is because my cousin did full size wine bottles as a favor. We were ALMOST but not quite the last people to leave and we were basically 3 entitites. me and fh, sister and BIL and my mom, and we took the last 2 wine bottles, so they were short favors. Some people must have thought it was 1 pp and then there were not enough, which was kind of a bummer.
The only people who were left after us were actually immediate family also, so I don't think it was THAT big of a deal, since I'm sure they understood, etc, but it's not a situation I'd want to be in.
I'm doing espresso sets and I can't afford more than 1 per couple, so I'm going to have someone from the hall give them out

A wedding I attended, they had the bottle of wine (it was smaller though, not a mini bottle but not a normal size) with a personalized ribbon on it at our place setting. That way it was obvious it was per couple and everyone took theirs when theyleft.

I def do not think it is necessary to give one per person....I would say to just order a few extras in case some people take two (Im sure they wont)

One of these things above... I think handing them out at the end of the night might be the best thing. Remember you don't have THAT much room on the tables, are you sure they will fit, they might end up on the floor and then people forget them.

I really like the idea of putting the seating cards on them....This way no body is confused on what they are supposed to get and I save myself serious dough by avoiding a purchase of about 80 extra bottles of wine! Maybe I can make the seating cards a wine tag :)

I'd say one bottle per couple is more than enough. If you display them on each dinner table then there is no confusion, there are only enough favors at each table for those sitting there.

I'm doing one per couple and either having them put at the dinner tables or having an attendant hand them out as guests are leaving. That should avoid couples taking more than one.

Every wedding that i want to had a favor for the couple .....i mean if you dont want people taking extras what you can do is put them out ..but by you so they see it and as people leave and say goodbye give them the wine...or have your parents help ..but dont stress over it

I think you may be over thinking this. Some people may not even want one. You'd be surprised who takes home what. Out of every wedding I've ever went to the only thing I remember people actually wanting to grab something, is usually the CP's- the pretty flowers! I think if it's very pricey that its just excessive. JMO. If you have it to throw away, then why not. You'll have little memories from wedding all around your place!

Use them as place cards - w/ their names/ tables on them .... I've seen that before and it looks great and no confusion!!

THIS! i think this is a very cute idea. otherwise just have someone at the hall do it. But defintly only get 1 bottle per couple.

doing one per person... i am going to buy bottles of wine with a discount for buying in bulk and not look at getting super expensive wine- whole foods had some really good wine that was cheap
