I am getting married the saturday after thanksgiving. Would you consider that a fall or a winter wedding? I can't decide if I should do fall colors or start with the winter colors.... and what colors do you think winter colors are?? I don't really want christmas colors as this is an interfaith marriage (although I don't mind if the place has lights up or a tree) and I don't want it to look like we favor one over the other.

Winter. After Thanksgiving, they start with all the Christmas/Holiday sales and people are really getting in the mood.
Though it's technically Fall, I would go with winter. Did you choose a location yet? It might also depend on their decor.
Editing to add colors: If you want to avoid the obvious red, light blue and white always scream winter to me- makes me think of snow flakes.

I would consider it a fall wedding. I am also a fall bride (nov 09) I am using choc. brown, crimson and orange. HTH

I say just do whatever you like best. If you prefer fall colors then that is fine, plus it still goes. If you prefer winter then same thing it can still be appropriate and in the end its best if you do what you like best.

Technically it's still a fall wedding.
You can do whatever you want, though...that's the beauty of it being YOUR wedding!!!

Winter. After Thanksgiving is the start of the Christmas season I'd say.

That is totally fall. Thanksgiving is like the epitomy of fall and it's right after thanksgiving, so fall. Plus, technically it IS fall, because winter does not start until December 21.

do watever you like better. my friend is getting married january 3rd and her colors are white and silver. kinda like a winter wonderland.....but not ALL WHITE.

i would say fall - winter doesnt start until dec 21 but i am doing winter for my 12/5 wedding - there are some pics in my album of winter decor if you are interested

I would check with your rh, bc I know a lot of rh put up their Christmas decorations starting the day after Thanksgiving. I would go more with winter, because after Thanksgiving people are in Holiday mode.

and there are so many diff color palettes for fall..
I think you're doing it at a time where either would go. Whichever color scheme you like better go with. Either one will work!

I too am getting married the Sat after thanksgiving.. We are doing wintery.. not fall. More cream colors, and champagne colors. My BM dresses are black and champagne. We are doing lots of floating candles, votives, etc. It def has a wintery feel, plus the hall will already be decorated with greenery and white lights.

I love the pictures you posted!!! I have always loved the fall colors better. I really want more bright vibrant colors. The only thing is I think my RH will probably decorate for the holidays right after thanksgiving.

that's a toughy actually!! It could go either way. When I think of Thanksgiving, i think FALL!! Orange, red, yellow. But Black Friday is directly after which officially begins Christmas Season - WINTER!! White, ice blue, crystals. Hmmm. In my opinion, you could truthfully do whichever you prefer. I don't feel like you could go wrong either way.

I think it's winter...because it's right after Thanksgiving when the holiday rush starts...but then again technically it's not winter on the calendar yet. Ask your RH when they decorate for the December holidays and how they do it...that might help you decide....you might want to use winter colors if your RH is decorated for the holidays/winter already.
