So I always imagined having a summery wedding on a beach or by the water. Chateau La Mer was (is) still a big choice that I like; however, we want to have a short engagement and get married SOON! I know a year is soon, and I could still have the summer wedding, but lately I've been thinking we should just do it in like February. Prices are cheaper, and again we both would just go to city hall tomorrow and get married hahah so we want it soon.
What RH do you think has a nice winter feel to it?? Holds about 150-200 people, and price range around 100 pp. Thanks! :)
And do you think it's stupid to have a winter wedding on the water at a place like Chateau La Mer??

Re: Winter Wedding
I think you can have a wedding anywhere, no matter what the season.
You can't go by seasons, because no matter what the season is you can always have out-of-season weather.
For example, you could book CLM for July and end up with a massive hurricane. You could book CLM for March and have an usually warm 65 degree day.
I dont think its strange to book CLM in the winter, or any other hall for that matter. Go with what you like, and what time of year works bestfor you.

CLM is really pretty in the winter. You could also check out Chateau Briand and Jericho Terrace they both can accomidate those size parties and are under a $100 PP in the winter. good luck!

Re: Winter Wedding
Woodlands is a more than that price for spring/summer...but maybe in February you can get around that price range.
I think it would be beautiful in the winter bc of the fireplaces and everything. def look into it!

Re: Winter Wedding
Floral Terrace is gorgeous. It has no outdoor grounds which would be good for you, because I doubt you would use them in February. The ballroom has such a warm ambiance and an elegant feel to it that would be nice for a romantic winter wedding.

Re: Winter Wedding
I think a lot of RH's look beautiful in the winter, my RH (fox hollow) has gorgeous fire places all over and I think that adds to the winter charm.

Re: Winter Wedding
Love that place since the new owners took over.
We are doing Valentine's Day weekend 2/13 at the Watermill. We did a pinky swear not to sign ANYTHING until we looked at the other places, but we just had to jump on the deal. The base price allowed us to add all the extras we wanted to add along with doing something a little different as far as music is concerned.
Would June or July been more convenient, sure, but then we would have had to do bottom line, no extras. We just weren't willing to put it off any longer to get the summer time. The lights at the Watermill are up through March. If wedding number 1 wasn't 3/4 then it would have been so this time around..

I'm getting married on 2/27 at Flowerfield in St. James. They are reasonable during their winter promotion and they give you lots of extras like photo package, flowers, and upgraded cake and ice sculptures!!! FM me for details or call Ellen Rossi at Flowerfield and tell her Kelly recommended her! Hope this helps!!
