Winter Weddings
So I really wanted a warm weather month for my wedding but now that my FH and i sat down and thought about just how many people we are inviting i think it might be in our best interests to chose an off-peak month like January. My problem with winter months is I need to prepare for all my pictures to be taken inside my venue, which brings me to my question for you ladies...Do you know of any venues that have the place decorated for the holidays (lights, trees, wreaths) My best friend just got married this past January at the Milleridge and it was beautifully decorated, id love a similar feel but avoiding having it there just because i don't want to have the same wedding she did.
Thanks a ton

Winter weddings are so beautiful! I think most places will be completely decorated for the holidays. There was a bride that just got married and the snow was all in her favor. Her pictures are beautiful and photographers really take advantage of their surroundings for winter weddings. So I would also say when you meet with photographers ask them as well what locations they favor.

Went to a winter wedding in January and the bride and groom took some pics outside. Snow was on the ground and it was beautiful. You should look into places that are still decorated in December/January. Some places take their stuff down not long after the holidays.

I am not sure what kind of feel you are looking for.. Westbury Gardens had decorations..Watermill has a lot of nice decorations, my friend got married there the day after Thanksgiving for the decorations. :)
Hope this helps!!

I'm all for Fox Hollow, but Watermill looks beautiful, they put up these snowflake lights all around the outside of the hall, I live nearby and love driving by there in the winter!

Definitely check out Watermill in Smithtown. The grounds are gorgeous in the winter with tons of lights outside and I've heard beautifully decorated inside as well. But you can totally take pictures outside regardless. I was in a wedding in the end of December and we took almost all of the pictures outside actually. You can wear a coat that you pull off for photos or worst case be a little cold for a few minutes. Totally do-able! Don't let that completely deter you from a venue you love. I am a winter bride so im bias but I told FH our luck we would pay the extra per plate to have a spring wedding and it will rain. We are inside most of the night anyway so winter was the way to go for us :)

We got married at Fox Hollow this January and it was so beautifully decorated. We also chose the Winter Garden Pavillion room which went perfect with our winter wedding. :)
