Wisdom tooth update

I just got back from having my bottom left wisdom tooth extracted. To my surprise, the x-rays showed that I only had one wisdom tooth, so I'll never have tk go through this again! I had to get two doses of novacaine, but I still felt a small sting as the oral surgeon had to get the remaining pieces out. The novacaine is starting to wear off now, so I'll be taking my pain meds and venturing off to sleepyland soon.

Im glad your surgery went well! I meant to reply back about my surgery but the past week and a half have been hell. Im still not eating real foods yet (although i have no energy i did lose 10lbs) there wasn't really any pain which was good but damn is it uncomfortable. I had chipmunk cheeks for a while which everyone else seemed to think was funny. I also have numbness in part of my face and mouth that the dentist said theres a small chance itll never get better. But all that matter is that its all over and i will never have to do that again.I hope you have a speedy recovery and thankfully you wont have to go through that again.

Thanks ladies! I was up half the night in pain and so I took a Vicodin. The pain in my jaw and empty socket has subsided, but now my head is killing me. On the bright side, since I've iced my cheek, there is very little swelling. I was told the swelling is worst on he second post op day, is this true? I have my tasting at Crest Hollow on Wed and I want to begin healing while resting this weekend.

Its true I didnt get my chipmunk cheeks until a day or two after the surgery and the swelling went down a week later but remember i had all four out so it probably wont be as bad for you. Im just starting to eat some solid foods. But Ive heard of people not having a problem eating a few days afterwards. You should have plenty of time to get better b4 your tasting. Feel Better!
