On this snowy night, I thought I would take it upon myself to start this year's thread 2009 is winding down...and you lucky girls will have center stage soon!
As in the past, I thought it would be great if us 09ers could leave a few helpful hints, words of wisdom or just congratulations for you girls/guys.
-Enjoy every minute... -Make sure you get something to eat... -Don't sweat the small stuff! -It's okay to not invite people with a guest, but just be prepared for some backlash from said people not invited with guests. -Try not to leave a lot of things for last minute if you can, trust me - you don't know what could happen in that last week or 2 before the wedding. -Don't get suckered into everything that is suggested on this board. Believe me, everyone has great ideas - but just because everyone else is doing it, doesnt mean you have to do it as well (your budget will thank you) -No obsessing over the weather 15 days before the wedding! it'll just drive you nuts! Your day will be absolutely beautiful regardless of the weather outside. -If you are considering seeing your FH before the ceremony for pictures - do it!! It'll give you so much more time to party!

I only have a few:
- either hire a DOC or assign tasks to someone else. You should enjoy your day and not have to worry about the details. By then you have done everything you can. I didn't do this and when we got to our venue I freaked out running around asking where the cakes were and if they were decorated. Totally not worth it.
- don't drink too much. Seriously, I thought it would be a good idea to do some shots because I didn't have time to get a drink. I wanted to enjoy my party but that was a bad idea. I ate my dinner but I had been up since 5am so at 7pm 2 shots made me go from sober to not sober in a split second. I was fine, but don't do that. Or, get an energy drink.
- No matter how many times people tell you to enjoy the moment, it will go by faster than you ever expect. So....soak it up!!
Most of all, enjoy your husband and have a great honeymoon and don't stress over the things that didn't go right while you are away!

I already agree with not leaving everything for too close to wedding. I just came down with bronchitis and all minute finishes will have to wait til after xmas and my wedding is 3 weeks from today...ahhhh

Ahhhh I can't believe our year is over and now it's time for the 2010 girlies to shine!!!!! Here are some tips....
DONT check the weather AT ALL! I did not and it was the best thing ever. I didn't want to sweat it and worry about something I could not control.
DANCE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!!!! Seriously- people have a great time when the bride and the groom are dancing. When we started, everyone did. When we stopped, people stopped. DH does not like to dance but he did at our wedding and had the best time ever.
EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! We ate at the CH, reception and vienese. I was not missing out on the food. We sat at our table outside at the cocktail hour and we ate. People sat with us, said hello and actually said to us that they were happy to see us enjoying the food because that's rare.
Try to space out the church and reception time so you can enjoy the cocktail hour. BEST DECISION EVER! We got to take all our pictures in a three hour span. DH and I didn't rush or feel rushed. We got to really enjoy our wedding.
That's my advice to you girls. Enjoy it. It's the best day of your life!!!!!!!!!!

In all seriousness, try to do most of the important things yourself. I always say, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself.
Get EVERYTHING done atleast a week before you wedding so you can RELAX on your wedding day.
