with all this talk about showers...

Is there anyone out there like me who doesn't want to be surprised? I HATE surprises! FH says I'm weird. That's definitely true for enough other reasons

Am I alone out there?

The only thing I wanted to know was the date and they told me that - I dont know where, what time, colors or any details.

No surprise for me either...I know the place & date...I picked them and even picked out my shower invites and made labels w/all the addresses for my sisters................I knew I was having a shower so why not help out???

Re: with all this talk about showers...

I have so many things going on this summer, I am having a very tough time trying to figure out when my shower is. I thought I knew, but it turns out I have no F'in clue?!?!?!? This is all good, beause I don't want to know, I just think I am too 'smart to be surprised!' I had a baby shower almost 7 years ago and they got me good. They planned some type of party at my Aunts house, so I figured that would be it, then I walked into my friends 'shower' and it was mine! But you are stunned and not in the mind set of being the center of attention, but BAM there you are, all eyes on you. Good Luck.

Me! I don't want a surprise. I don't mind them, but my family all has big mouths and I knew it would get ruined anyway. My BMs are glad, too, less effort they have to put into hiding it from me.
I know all about mine. I'm trying to stay out of it, but my mom loves to run things by me.

My mom is a terrible liar, too! She tries to change the subject and she starts to smile - I can always tell. She also talks about whatever the fake plan is way too much. But really, I wish I could just know everything ahead of time!

I did NOT, NOT, NOT want to be surprised. My mom and MOH respected that. I knew when and where, but not much else. Actually, my mom even sent me an invitation!

It was SO much nicer that way. They didn't have to hide OOT guests from me for one thing. Also, I had time to get my hair and makeup done before the party... and I was able to get an outfit for the shower, too.

It's the way to go IMHO.

The only other thing is that I wish I didn't have to open my gifts at the shower. We did b/c of the OOTers of course, but I would have MUCH prefered not to open them there. To be honest, no paid attention anyway.

I wasn't suprised. I hate them too, I knew exactly when, where and what time mine was! It would have been sooo hard for them to suprise me anyway, my MOH and my Mother both live in Florida. Would have been a little odd if they were both in town at the same time

Normally I HATE surprises, but this is something that I think that I want to be surprised about. My only fear about being surprised is that I will be dressed bummy.
