Should I dress the part , what can I wear to look 50's, what can FH wear?

You could do a 'Grease' theme. You could dress all cutesy like Sandy- poodle skirt, white socks, maryjanes. And your FH could dress like Danny! All he needs is a leather jacket, white shirt and jeans. I think that would be so cute!

we just had a 50's party last year for my moms birthday...my FH wore black straight leg jeans and a white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up with black shoes

Thanks, I love some of that stuff!!! I was thinking I might find something at tj maxx and get a birdcage at joyce leslie. I know I saw them there before.

You could totally dress the part! But maybe avoid things that are 'costumey'. Macys had this cute navy polka dot dress with a yellow belt and cardigan this past spring, but it's no longer on their site. A cute flared dress and you could twirl a little bit of hair on the side of your head a pin it with a flower or sparkly pin. I do it all the time, it's retro without screaming I belong at a sock hop. LOL.

Yeah I'm not going to be wearing a poodle skirt. I looked today for things and couldn't find anything. What about a birdcage veil, I want one so bad!!!!!! I went to a store and all that was working there were like 15 year olds and they had no clue what a 50's dress looked like!!!! I felt so old!!!!!
