we're going only for the cake tasting. not sure what time we're going but hwopefully early like when it starts. i emailed helen 2x this week to confirm that the cake thing was still happening. she didn't respond. if i walk in there and they tell me no cake, i'm taking back my $10!

I emailed Helen to ask her a question this week and someone else responded. I hate not having a go-to person or knowing who I am supposed to be talking to. I have no idea what they're doing over there but honestly they need to get some people who know how to respond to emails in a timely fashion. /vent.

What time does the cake thing start??? I went to one of these last April or May I think and since all of my vendors are booked I don't feel like walking through all of that again.

I think so. When FH gets back from his run I'm going to see if he wants to come with me.

I hate to make it about money but when I booked and I was negotiatimg they only came down a little bit telling me that they're service is top notch and blah blah blah and that is part of what I'm paying for... I have yet to see it from the stories we've been hearing lately. I'm sorry but there is no reason that people getting married within the next 2-3 months should be waiting for responses for DAYS, even people getting married further out. And it really really bothers me that when Nicole left they didn't bother contacting anyone to tell them who their new BM would be.

Is FH going with you?

umm is it bad that i dont want to pay the $10 donation? i know its for a good cause,but why should i have to feel obligated to pay for my cake tasting? arent i paying enough?

FH and parents and bestman is coming today. I felt the same way. I mean atleast they should have had the courtesy to say Nicole's not your BM anywhere and introduce the new BM rather then trying to email her and get your message forwarded to someone weeks later :X OMG - they did say their service was top notch.

in october it was just $10 just for the bride - UNLESS they change the rules...

Girls, I was at the showcase today as well. I was really frustrated. They made such a big hype about the cake tasting and the woman who was over there didn't seem to have answers to any of my questions. I asked to be introduced to Sally (who apparently is the new BM) and they coudln't find her anywhere so finally Joe, the GM took FH and I into his office so we could clarify some of our concerns. Not sure who booked with Melanie but FH and I loved her and really it didn't feel the same without her there. She was so responsive and easy to work with. I hate not knowing who I'm putting my trust in for all the small details.

P.S. I totally agree with what some others have mentioned about the donation. I too hate to sound insensitive but come on!

so i totally feel your frustrations bc i have been so stressed not really having a BM to deal with and being so close to my wedding. Helen was totally not responsive and thats not ok.
FH spoke to Joe, the general manager, . and he has been really helpful. From now on we are solely dealing with Joe bc I dont wanna work with any other BMs....we already went through 3 since we booked. Joe is definitely helpful though so if u girls want answers in a timely matter definitely call him!!

yeah Joe came and found us after we were speaking to a girl named Sam who we had expressed some concerns to. Helen definitely overplayed the 'cake tasting' to the 900000th degree. Joe made us both feel a lot better though. Eileen was very professional on the phone when I spoke to her this morning. I feel more comfortable than I did with Helen that's for sure.

So what did you ladies think of the Showcase? I really went mainly for the dessert table to try cake flavors and I gotta say, I was pretty impressed! Everything I tried was delicious.

It seems like the Woodlands will make any filling you want which probably makes things harder (too many choices) but at least you have the freedom to choose what you want!

What cake flavors are you thinking about?

i think we're going to do red velvet with the cream cheese filling. it's my fave, and FH is on board, so why not lol! if we didn't do that i think we'd do the cannoli filling.
