Wording help please

Wording help please

My FH parents are helping us out financially with the wedding. My parents both died years ago so we will be paying for the rest of the wedding ourselves. I would like to somehow include his parents in the invites.

Something like

Together with his parents
Timothy
&
Kelley
etc. etc.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Wording help please

I know when the bride's parents pay, they use this saying...

Mr and Mrs
Request the honour of your presence
at the wedding of their daughter
Marie
to
Anthony
Son of Mr and Mrs

Maybe you can do something like that.

Re: Wording help please

You might want to look that up in an actual etiquette book or website. I found my wording in an older issue of Martha Stewart Weddings that covered wording. It's at home,t hough, and I'm at work. However, to me, the issue is who is hosting the wedding? Are his parents hosting, or are you? if you two are, you could do it like we did:

The honor of your presence is requested at the wedding of

You
your FH

the son of Mr and Mrs FH

House of Worship
Date, Time, etc.
reception to follow

----------------------------------------
If they're hosting, you could do it the traditional way, just with you, the bride, second.

Mr and Mrs FH
request your presence at the wedding of their son

FH

to You, the Bride,
house of worship,
Date time,

Thanks everyone!

Are you only 'supposed' to use the words
'request the honor of your presence'
at church ceremonies? We are having our ceremony at the RH.

Re: Wording help please

yes.... for RH ceremonies it should state 'invite you to celebrate the marriage of....'
