Wording on Invites

Wording on Invites

I'm asking this b/c I could not find any info on the web about this. When the bride's parents are hosting is this correct:

Dr. and Mrs. Joseph J. P. Smith
request the honour of your presence....ect.

or is it:

Doctor and Mrs. Joseph John Peter Smith
request the honour of your presence....ect.

Which is correct? B/c I've read everywhere that you don't abbreviate and to spell out the middle names, but this sounds ridiculously long (my Dad has two middle names and so do I)

You really should spell it all out...but you could ask your dad what he wants to do...there are always exceptions to the rule!

does your dad use his middle name a lot? I would rather see no middle name at all then the initals..
