I have a friend who cringes at the words: probe & cotton.

I hate the word: panties.

and a rain 'Slicker'...instead of rain coat. ANd dungarees for jeans....my mom loves to say these things , she is a cornball

I know, I hate slacks too - & I think I even USED it when describing what I was wearing today!! Blouse too.

blouse, slacks, panties, dungarees, trouser socks, nylons, rain slicker, long johns ( I think that these only bother me because you NEVER hear them in NY - but they are very common out of our area )
head cheese (eeeewwwww)
anything ending in 'loaf' (meatloaf, etc...)

I hate when people use a double negative...For example..I'm not going nowhere. UGHHH I cringe at that and 'I seen it'

Well, I am right there with hating the word fiance. It just sounds pretentious to me. But living in MA all this time has made me HATE the word WICKED.
What does that mean? Wicked cool. No, just avoid saying that word at all costs! They use it for EVERYTHING here. Sometimes it means VERY, sometimes it means COOL. Just DON'T use it.
