I got a flat yesterday and I went today to see if it could be patched and it couldn't. They wanted 160 a tire which is just way too much. I took it to Sears who don't carry the tires for my car and tell me they're going to be hard to find. Costco doesn't have them. Neither does some crazy tire place in Brooklyn that has everything. Thanks Honda for making a car that you can't get tires for!
I finally go to Honda they have them (surprise surprise) and they take 2 hours to change them! Now I know that I didn't have an appointment but it's a fricken tire! Just change it! It cost me almost 400 that I don't really have to spare for 2 tires.
Then I get home and I see my class rosters and I want to kill myself. I have had many of these kids for 3 years! That and there are some kids in there who were not very easy to deal with last year. This is not going to be an easy year. Out of 5 of my classes only 1 looks ok.

ahhh sorry you're having a bad day! just get through it, sulk about the rosters for today, but tomorrow brainstorm how to make it work..

I know how you feel with the class roster. I was told on my last day of summer school that I have half of my class from last year. The half they are giving me are all the extremely hard behavioral kids/ hard to please parents.

Sorry about your tire. With regard to having some of the students for a third time. Just think at least you know what you have. The unknown can be worse! (Trust me I have seen it in many districts!)

So sorry, that does not sound like fun!!! At least your car is safe w/ new tires and like mara said you kind of know what you're in for Hopefully it will work out and tomorrow will be a better day!!

It seems like when I get students again, or as I like to call them 'repeat offenders' they're never my favorites. Take it as a compliment, if that parents didn't like you they would have requested for you not to come back. And we all know, what parents want they get!

I teach middle school and honestly I am ready for some parents to not want their kids with me for three years and I won't be offended by it.
Let's just put it this way here are a sample of the characters that I have:
One poured soda in a teacher's gas tank and destroyed her car
One put a dead squirrel on a teacher's car (didn't actually kill the animal that we know of)
One set a fire in the boys bathroom.
I know I'm down about it but I also have some really great kids that I had as 6th graders and I am looking forward to that.
