worst student teaching day everrr

So, i have 8th grade for my student teaching placement..

well, a student that I have, 13 years old, hung herself yesterday!

im in shock about it! how can your life be so bad at 13 that you need to end it?!?!

it was an awfulll day at school...kids crying...kids looked like they wanted to cry...awkward silences...

blahhh

Oh my god...that's terrible. That poor girl, and her family and friends The school is providing counseling for the kids, right? I hope so..

yea, its a real small school... its 6, 7, and 8th grade...there are only like 100 kids in 8th grade... but they had like 5 counselors in the school all day.

There are no words that can help the way you feel right now. Unfortunately, death, no matter how it comes, is a part of life. I've been to quite a few wakes and funerals for students. It is one of the worst parts, no, it is the worst part of being a teacher.

here's the worst part, I've seen ONE dead body in my life, and it was just like a month ago, and it was someone I didn't even know. I just went to be supportive. It was sooo hard for me to look at a dead body of an old lady that I didnt even know. I don;t like looking at stuff like that.

how the hell am I going to being myself to look at a 13 year old girl that I know?!

Be strong!! You can do it.
I would go to the wake. Go early in the viewing. You don't even have to go up to see her. Bring a sympathy card for her family. Sit and say a few quiet things in your head and get out of there!

Depending on when/where, I'd go with you if you wanted. Just having someone there could make it easier for you.

Im am so sorry to hear that It is even sadder to think that a little girl thought her life was that bad and didn't get help.

I would honesly go to the wake, jsut as sa sign of respect even thought you are only the student teacher expecially since it is such a small school.

OMG That is so sad. I would definitely go to the viewing. You don't have to go up to the casket, but I still would try to make it there. So sorry you had to experience that!
